Truck loaded outside an apartment block during a clearance — apartment clearance in The Swan

Whether it is a studio, a two-bed or a penthouse, an apartment clearance in The Swan comes down to access. Tell us the floor, whether there is a lift and where we can park, and the quote and the schedule follow from there.

The Swan is in County Laois, 19 km from Portlaoise, and we cover it as part of our regular run. Krystal Klean Express Limited holds Waste Collection Permit No. NWCPO-25-13287-01 (NWCPO) and is fully insured, including public liability.

Apartment clearance in The Swan

Around The Swan most clearances are houses, but flats over premises and units in small schemes come up often enough. The job runs the same way — photos, price, date — and we bring the crew size the stairs call for.

Lifts, stairs and the awkward bits

Three things slow an apartment clearance down more than volume ever does: a lift too small for a sofa, a turn on the stairs that means dismantling, and a loading spot 50 metres from the door. Any of them is fine once we know in advance; discovering them on the day is what turns a morning job into a full day.

Who we clear apartments for in The Swan

Landlords and letting agents

Between tenancies, when furniture, mattresses and bags are left behind and the unit has to be ready for viewings. We can work from a key or a fob and send photos when the flat is empty.

Tenants moving out

Getting the apartment back to the state the inventory expects, before the deposit inspection. We clear what will not fit in the car and leave nothing in the bin store.

Families and executors

Where an apartment in The Swan belonged to a relative, we work at the family's pace, set aside papers and keepsakes, and can deal with the solicitor on access.

Owners selling or moving

An empty apartment shows better and sells faster. We clear it ahead of photographs or the closing date.

What goes on the truck

Beds and mattresses, sofas and armchairs, wardrobes and chests of drawers, the kitchen appliances, TVs and small electricals, the contents of the hot press and the storage press, balcony furniture, carpets and curtains, and the bags that appear once everything else is out.

Off limits, because they are not on our permit: asbestos, paints and solvents, oils and fuel, gas cylinders, clinical waste.

Where it all goes

A flat clearance produces less volume than a house but the same mix: furniture, appliances, textiles and bags. Reusable furniture and working appliances are set aside first, metals and cardboard are separated for recycling, and the remainder goes to authorised facilities under our permit.

The Swan at a glance

  • Area: Co. Laois, about 79 km south-west of Dublin city centre
  • Nearby areas we also cover: Clogh (3 km), Spink (5 km), Crettyard (5 km)
  • Typical jobs here: flats over premises and units in small schemes
  • Hours: Mon–Sat 7am–8pm

How it works

Photos first: the rooms, then the hall, stairs or lift, then the spot where a van could stand. With those and the The Swan Eircode we can quote without visiting. You pick a date that suits the building as much as you; we bring the crew, clear the flat, cover the lift and hallway while we work, and take everything with us. Afterwards the load is sorted — reuse first, then recycling, then authorised disposal.

Apartment clearance The Swan: questions we get

Can you take a single sofa or mattress from a flat?

Yes. Single-item collections are common — tell us the floor and whether there is a lift, and we will price it on its own rather than as a full clearance.

How long does an apartment clearance take?

Most one- and two-bed flats are done in half a day. Stairs-only access, a long carry or a fully furnished three-bed can push it to a full day.

Can you work at weekends or early morning?

We work Mon–Sat 7am–8pm, and buildings that restrict loading to certain hours are usually fine with an early start. Tell us the window and we will schedule to it.

Do you provide an invoice for the landlord or agent?

Yes — give us the billing details when you book and we will issue an invoice for the clearance.

What if there is a storage cage or locker in the basement?

Include it in the photos and we will include it in the price. Cages are easy to forget and awkward to come back for.

Do you clear balconies?

Yes — furniture, planters, barbecues and whatever else has weathered out there goes on the same load.

How much does an apartment clearance in The Swan cost?

It depends on the volume, the floor, whether there is a lift and where we can park. A one-bed on the ground floor is a different job from a two-bed on the fourth with stairs only. Send photos and those details and we will quote before anything is booked.
