Furniture Removal in Dublin
The sofa that’s done, the bed that’s been replaced, the wardrobe that won’t come apart. Collected from inside the house, reused where it can be, recycled where it can’t — across Dublin.
Outside Dublin this is part of our junk removal service: KildareWicklowKilkennyLaoisCarlowMeathLouthLongfordOffalyWestmeathWexford

Old furniture is the single most common thing we collect. It doesn’t fit the car, the shop that delivered the new one wouldn’t take the old one, and it’s too good — or too heavy — to leave out for someone to take. In Dublin City the council’s €50 bulky collection is an option for kerbside pickup, but you have to get it to the kerb and wait up to ten days; in Fingal, South Dublin and DLR there is no council collection at all.
We collect from inside the house, dismantle what needs dismantling, and set good pieces aside for reuse. ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01. We’re based in Athy and run into Dublin daily — city-centre jobs are about 75 minutes from our yard, which is why we schedule Dublin work in rounds rather than one-offs, and why our quotes for Dublin don’t carry a long-distance premium.

Clearing a house of furniture in Dublin
When it’s all the furniture — a house being sold empty, a rental being refurnished, a move where nothing is coming — we treat it as a furniture-only clearance: every piece out, dismantled where needed, loaded in an order that protects what can be reused. Good solid furniture, especially hardwood pieces and sound upholstery, is set aside for reuse where we can arrange it, which reduces the disposal cost and we pass that on. Flat-pack rarely survives disassembly and goes for recycling as timber and metal. A house-worth of furniture is typically a half-day and one load.
Single pieces and small furniture collections
One sofa. A bed and mattress. The wardrobe. The dining table and six chairs. These are quick stops and we price them as such, and we try to fit them into a run already going through Dublin so the price stays sensible. We can time it to the day your new furniture arrives — out with the old in the morning, in with the new in the afternoon.

Furniture Removal across Dublin: every area we cover
We provide furniture removal in all 161 areas below, and at the rural addresses between them. Dublin is four local authorities, not one, and that matters more than most people realise when they’re getting rid of things. Dublin City Council runs a bookable bulky-waste collection; Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown don’t collect bulky waste at all. Where you live decides what the council will and won’t do for you — so on this page we’ve split the county by council area, named every area we cover, and set out exactly what each council offers so you can compare it with simply calling us.
Housing stock varies enormously: Victorian and Edwardian terraces on the canals with narrow halls and no off-street parking, 1930s–60s semis in Crumlin, Cabra, Drimnagh and Finglas, the big apartment developments along the Luas lines and in the Docklands, and newer estates on the edges in Fingal and South Dublin. Access is the thing that changes a Dublin job: parking suspensions on the quays, management-company rules in apartment blocks, and the three-storey Georgian house with everything in the attic.

Doing it yourself in Dublin: what the councils offer
Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Dublin’s four councils will and won’t do for furniture removal. Furniture and bulky items are accepted at Ringsend Recycling Centre, North Strand Recycling Centre, Ballymun Recycling Centre, Coolmine Recycling Centre, Estuary Recycling Centre, Ballymount Civic Amenity and Ballyogan Recycling Park, with mattresses charged separately (Mattresses €35 each on top of the gate fee). Grangegorman Bring Centre, Oscar Traynor Road Bring Centre (Coolock), Gullistan Terrace Bring Centre (Rathmines), Windmill Road Bring Centre (Crumlin), Herzog Park Bring Centre (Rathgar), Kylemore Park North Bring Centre (Ballyfermot), Eamonn Ceannt Park Bring Centre (Crumlin), Eden Park Recycling Centre and Shanganagh Recycling Centre do not accept furniture or mattresses at all. Watch the vehicle rules: Vans and vehicles with a double-axle trailer pay €95; car with single-axle trailer €55. Full large or commercial vans are not accepted. Household use only.
Dublin City Council — runs a bookable bulky household waste collection: Bulky Household Waste Collection Service for all households in the DCC area (domestic only, not commercial premises). Book online via Citizen Hub (citizenhub.dublincity.ie) or phone (01) 222 2222; pay in advance by debit/credit card. €50 per collection for up to 5 items (a three-piece suite counts as 3 items); each additional 5 items +€50. Normally contacted within 5 working days; collection may take up to 10 days after payment, Mon–Fri 8am–3pm, and you cannot choose the date. Items go on the public footpath on the morning of collection (not collected from gardens, sheds or inside). Full refund if cancelled at least 24 hours before the collection date. Accepts household furniture, bedding and mattresses, carpets, kitchen units/worktops/sinks, doors, bathroom and toilet suites, bicycles, ladders, garden furniture and barbecues, fully drained oil tanks/boilers/radiators, children's swings/slides, prams/buggies/large toys. Not accepted: bagged household or bin waste, garden waste, rubble/soil/plasterboard/asbestos, large amounts of renovation waste, glass, gas cylinders, paints and other hazardous waste, batteries, fluorescent tubes, electrical goods.
Fingal County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Fingal County Council does not offer a bulky waste collection service. Use an authorised collector with a National Waste Collection Permit Office (NWCPO) permit – the council publishes a list – or bring items to Coolmine or Estuary recycling centres for the per-vehicle fee.
South Dublin County Council — no bulky-waste collection. No council bulky collection – SDCC exited the waste collection service in 2011 and has no plans to reintroduce it. Residents use permitted private collectors or bring items to Ballymount Civic Amenity. The council runs periodic free community initiatives with social enterprise RecycleIT, e.g. a mattress amnesty (in 2025 mattresses could also be dropped free at RecycleIT, Crag Industrial Estate, D22) and door-to-door WEEE collection days before Halloween.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council — no bulky-waste collection. DLR transferred its household waste collection service to private companies in 2010 and offers no bulky-waste kerbside collection. Residents use permitted private collectors or bring items to Ballyogan Recycling Park. Occasional free Mattress Amnesty Days are held at Ballyogan (most recent: Saturday 5 September 2026, 9:30am–5:30pm).

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.
Or we come to you
Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.

Price. Fixed price per item or per load, same day.

Furniture Removal in Dublin: frequently asked questions
Can you take just one item?
Yes. Single-item collections are a large part of what we do in Dublin. We fit them into runs to keep them cheap.
Will you take it from upstairs?
Yes, from any room on any floor, with the walls and door frames protected. Tell us the floor.
Can you take the old one the day the new one arrives?
Yes — book us for the morning and the delivery for the afternoon.
What happens to good furniture?
Reused where we can arrange it. It lowers your price and keeps it out of landfill. Tell us if there’s a charity you’d like us to try.
Do you take mattresses?
Yes, with a per-mattress disposal charge shown on the quote — the same charge the council sites apply where they accept them.
Do you cover every town in Dublin?
Yes — every town on this page and the addresses in between.
Can you take a wardrobe that was built in the room?
Yes — we dismantle it. Fitted wardrobes are unscrewed from the wall and taken in panels; freestanding ones come apart the same way.
Do you take garden and patio furniture?
Yes — rattan, metal, timber, parasols, and the cover that blew away. Timber and metal are recycled separately.
Can you collect from a storage unit or a garage?
Yes. Tell us the location and access, and we collect from there instead of the house.
Do you take office furniture from a home office?
Yes — desks, chairs, filing cabinets and bookcases from home offices are a common collection.
Is there a minimum charge for furniture collection in Dublin?
A single-item collection is priced as a short stop, not a full clearance. In Dublin we fit single items into runs to keep the price down.
Does the council collect bulky items in Dublin?
Dublin City Council does — a bookable collection at €50 for up to five items, with a wait of up to ten days, for furniture and mattresses but not electricals, garden waste or rubble. Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown offer no bulky collection at all. Details are in the council section above.
How far is Dublin from your base?
We’re based in Athy and run into Dublin daily — city-centre jobs are about 75 minutes from our yard, which is why we schedule Dublin work in rounds rather than one-offs, and why our quotes for Dublin don’t carry a long-distance premium.
