Full house clearance in Dublin
Every room, top to bottom, including the attic, the garage, the shed and the garden. We take furniture, beds and mattresses, wardrobes and their contents, kitchen units and appliances, carpets and curtains if you want them gone, the contents of presses and drawers, and the general household waste that builds up in the corners. We sweep as we go and leave the property broom-clean. A full clearance is the right call when a house is being sold, handed back to a landlord, or passed on after a death and nobody is moving in.
Before we start we walk the house with you (or go through it on a video call) and agree what stays. Anything you want kept — paperwork, photographs, jewellery, the good dinner service — gets set aside in one room and nothing in that room is touched. A typical three-bed semi is a day’s work for a crew of two or three with one truck load; a large family home with a full attic and garage is usually two loads and a day and a half.
Partial house clearance in Dublin
Not every job is the whole house. Often it’s one room that’s become a store, the bulky items that won’t go in the car, the furniture that didn’t sell, or the half of a house that a family member hasn’t got around to. We do single rooms, single floors, “just the big stuff”, and “everything except what’s tagged”. A partial clearance is priced on what actually comes out, not on the size of the house, and it’s often done in a couple of hours.
Partial clearances are also the sensible first step when a family isn’t ready for the whole house. Clear the attic and the garage now, come back for the rest when the sale goes through. We’re happy to do it in stages.

House Clearance across Dublin: every area we cover
We provide a house clearance in all 161 areas below, and at the rural addresses between them. Dublin is four local authorities, not one, and that matters more than most people realise when they’re getting rid of things. Dublin City Council runs a bookable bulky-waste collection; Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown don’t collect bulky waste at all. Where you live decides what the council will and won’t do for you — so on this page we’ve split the county by council area, named every area we cover, and set out exactly what each council offers so you can compare it with simply calling us.
Housing stock varies enormously: Victorian and Edwardian terraces on the canals with narrow halls and no off-street parking, 1930s–60s semis in Crumlin, Cabra, Drimnagh and Finglas, the big apartment developments along the Luas lines and in the Docklands, and newer estates on the edges in Fingal and South Dublin. Access is the thing that changes a Dublin job: parking suspensions on the quays, management-company rules in apartment blocks, and the three-storey Georgian house with everything in the attic.

Doing it yourself in Dublin: what the councils offer
Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Dublin’s four councils will and won’t do for a house clearance. Furniture and bulky items are accepted at Ringsend Recycling Centre, North Strand Recycling Centre, Ballymun Recycling Centre, Coolmine Recycling Centre, Estuary Recycling Centre and Ballymount Civic Amenity. Grangegorman Bring Centre, Oscar Traynor Road Bring Centre (Coolock), Gullistan Terrace Bring Centre (Rathmines), Windmill Road Bring Centre (Crumlin), Ballyogan Recycling Park, Eden Park Recycling Centre and Shanganagh Recycling Centre do not accept furniture or mattresses at all. Electrical items — fridges, washing machines, TVs, computers — are free to drop at every council site as WEEE, and we take them as part of any job. Watch the vehicle rules: Small vans and car+trailer accepted (€55/€95); full large or commercial vans not accepted.
Dublin City Council — runs a bookable bulky household waste collection: Bulky Household Waste Collection Service for all households in the DCC area (domestic only). Book online via Citizen Hub or phone (01) 222 2222. €50 per collection for up to 5 items; each additional 5 items +€50. Contacted within 5 working days; collection up to 10 days after payment. Accepts furniture, bedding, mattresses, carpets, kitchen units, doors, bathroom suites, bicycles, ladders, garden furniture, drained oil tanks/boilers, swings/slides, prams/large toys. Not accepted: regular waste, garden waste, rubble, glass, gas cylinders, hazardous materials, WEEE.
Fingal County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Fingal County Council does not offer a bulky waste collection service. Residents must use NWCPO-permitted private operators or bring items to Coolmine or Estuary recycling centres for the per-vehicle fee.
South Dublin County Council — no bulky-waste collection. No council bulky collection — SDCC exited waste collection in 2011 and has no plans to reintroduce it. Residents use permitted private collectors, bring items to Ballymount Civic Amenity, or use periodic free mattress/WEEE recycling days.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Council ceased all household waste collection in 2010. No bulky-waste kerbside service; residents use private collectors or bring items to Ballyogan Recycling Park. Occasional free Mattress Amnesty Days at Ballyogan (limit 2 mattresses).

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.

Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.
How a house clearance works with us
Send photos. A photo of each room through the quote form or on WhatsApp is enough. For large houses we’ll call out and look.
Agree the job. You get a fixed price, a date and a note of what’s being kept. No surprises on the day.
The clearance. A crew of two or three with a box truck. We load, sort for reuse and recycling on the truck, and sweep through.
Afterwards. Keys handed back as agreed. If you find something later that should have been kept, ring us straight away — we hold loads for a short time.

House Clearance in Dublin: frequently asked questions
How much does a house clearance cost in Dublin?
A single room or a bulky-items-only job usually starts in the low hundreds; a full three-bed house is typically a day’s work for a crew and one truck load; larger houses with full attics and garages are more. The exact figure depends on volume, access and what can be reused, so send photos of each room and you’ll have a fixed price the same day.
Do I have to be there on the day?
No. Plenty of our customers hand over a key or give us the code to a key safe, or an estate agent or neighbour lets us in. We agree what’s being kept in writing before we start and send you photos when we’re done.
Can you keep certain items aside?
Yes. Tag them, put them in one room, or send us a list. That room is off-limits to the crew and we double-check the list before we leave. If you find afterwards that something went that shouldn’t have, call us immediately — loads are held for a short time before they’re sorted.
What happens to the furniture and belongings?
They’re sorted on the truck. Good furniture and household goods are set aside for reuse where possible; recyclable materials are separated; the remainder goes to authorised waste facilities under our collection permit. Nothing is dumped, and you can have the facility details for the load if you want them.
Can you clear a house after a bereavement?
Yes — it’s a large part of what we do. We work at the family’s pace, can liaise with the executor or solicitor on access and timing, and we’re careful with paperwork and personal items. There’s a separate page on bereavement clearance in Dublin with more detail.
Do you clean as well as clear?
We sweep and leave the property broom-clean as standard. A proper end-of-tenancy or pre-sale clean is a separate job — ask when you book and we’ll quote both together.
Which parts of Dublin do you cover?
All of it — every area listed on this page, and the rural addresses in between. If your townland isn’t named, it’s still covered.
Can you clear a house in one day?
Most three- and four-bed houses, yes — one crew, one day, one or two truck loads. Larger houses with full attics, garages and years of contents can run into a second day; we tell you before we start, not after.
Do you charge extra for stairs or awkward access?
Access is part of the quote, not an extra on the day. A fourth-floor walk-up or a long carry down a lane costs more than a bungalow with a driveway, and we price that from your photos so there are no surprises.
What if the house hasn’t been lived in for a while?
We deal with that regularly — damp, mould, a freezer that was switched off, mice in the press. Tell us what you know and we’ll bring what’s needed. Serious pest problems are best treated before we arrive.
How far in advance should I book in Dublin?
A week is comfortable; a few days is usually fine. We run Dublin in rounds, so the earlier we know the more likely we can fit your preferred date.
Can you give a rough price over the phone?
A rough range, yes, if you describe the house. A firm price needs photos — one of each room — and takes us about ten minutes once we have them. We never quote blind and then change it on the day.
Does the council collect bulky items in Dublin?
Dublin City Council does — a bookable collection at €50 for up to five items, with a wait of up to ten days, for furniture and mattresses but not electricals, garden waste or rubble. Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown offer no bulky collection at all. Details are in the council section above.
