Storage Unit Clearance in Dublin
Stop paying rent on things you no longer need. Self-storage units, lock-ups and containers emptied in one visit, within the facility’s hours — across Dublin.
Outside Dublin this is part of our junk removal service: KildareWicklowKilkennyLaoisCarlowMeathLouthLongfordOffalyWestmeathWexford

Storage units fill up with good intentions. The furniture from the old house that was going to be used again. The stock from a business that closed. A parent’s belongings after a clearance, put away until the family could face them. The monthly direct debit keeps going out, and after a couple of years it has cost more than the contents are worth. Then there’s the practical problem: the unit is on the second floor of a facility with one goods lift, a trolley you have to book, and a gate that closes at six.
We clear units in one visit, within the facility’s hours, with our own trolleys and a crew that knows how the lifts work. ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01. We’re based in Athy and run into Dublin daily — city-centre jobs are about 75 minutes from our yard, which is why we schedule Dublin work in rounds rather than one-offs, and why our quotes for Dublin don’t carry a long-distance premium.

Full storage unit clearance in Dublin
The unit emptied to the walls in one visit — furniture, boxes, appliances, business stock, whatever is in there — loaded onto our truck in the facility’s loading bay and gone. We sort as we load: anything you’ve asked us to keep is set aside; good furniture goes for reuse; boxes you haven’t looked at in years can be opened on the spot if you want to decide, or brought to you to go through. We sign out with the facility and you cancel the unit that day. A standard 50–100 sq ft unit is an hour or two; a large unit or a container is a half-day.
Partial storage unit clearance — downsizing the unit
Sometimes the aim is a smaller unit, not no unit. We take out the bulky furniture and the things you’ve decided against, and you move what’s left to a cheaper size. Or we clear a parent’s unit of everything except the boxes marked “keep” and bring those to you. Partial unit jobs are priced on what comes out.
What we take — and what we don’t
- Furniture, beds, mattresses and household contents
- Boxed belongings — opened and sorted with you if wanted
- Business stock, fittings and archive boxes
- Appliances and electricals (WEEE)
- Containers and lock-ups as well as indoor units
- Working to the facility’s hours, lift bookings and trolley rules
- Sign-out with the facility office
Not included: Items the facility has a lien on (sort that with them first); Hazardous goods stored against the facility’s rules.
Storage Unit Clearance across Dublin: every area we cover
We provide a storage unit clearance in all 161 areas below, and at the rural addresses between them. Dublin is four local authorities, not one, and that matters more than most people realise when they’re getting rid of things. Dublin City Council runs a bookable bulky-waste collection; Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown don’t collect bulky waste at all. Where you live decides what the council will and won’t do for you — so on this page we’ve split the county by council area, named every area we cover, and set out exactly what each council offers so you can compare it with simply calling us.
For businesses, Dublin means the M50 industrial belt — Ballymount, Park West, Baldoyle, Sandyford, Blanchardstown, Airside — plus the city-centre offices and the retail units on every village main street. Loading bays, goods lifts, parking suspensions and estate security are the practical issues, and most of our Dublin commercial work is done early morning or on Saturdays to avoid them.

Doing it yourself in Dublin: what the councils offer
Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Dublin’s four councils will and won’t do for a storage unit clearance. Furniture and bulky items are accepted at Ringsend Recycling Centre, North Strand Recycling Centre, Ballymun Recycling Centre, Coolmine Recycling Centre, Estuary Recycling Centre, Ballymount Civic Amenity and Ballyogan Recycling Park, with mattresses charged separately (Mattresses €35 each on top of the gate fee). Grangegorman Bring Centre, Oscar Traynor Road Bring Centre (Coolock), Gullistan Terrace Bring Centre (Rathmines), Windmill Road Bring Centre (Crumlin), Herzog Park Bring Centre (Rathgar), Kylemore Park North Bring Centre (Ballyfermot), Eamonn Ceannt Park Bring Centre (Crumlin), Eden Park Recycling Centre and Shanganagh Recycling Centre do not accept furniture or mattresses at all. Electrical items — fridges, washing machines, TVs, computers — are free to drop at every council site as WEEE, and we take them as part of any job. Watch the vehicle rules: Vans and vehicles with a double-axle trailer pay €95; car with single-axle trailer €55. Full large or commercial vans are not accepted. Household use only.
Dublin City Council — runs a bookable bulky household waste collection: Bulky Household Waste Collection Service for all households in the DCC area (domestic only, not commercial premises). Book online via Citizen Hub (citizenhub.dublincity.ie) or phone (01) 222 2222; pay in advance by debit/credit card. €50 per collection for up to 5 items (a three-piece suite counts as 3 items); each additional 5 items +€50. Normally contacted within 5 working days; collection may take up to 10 days after payment, Mon–Fri 8am–3pm, and you cannot choose the date. Items go on the public footpath on the morning of collection (not collected from gardens, sheds or inside). Full refund if cancelled at least 24 hours before the collection date. Accepts household furniture, bedding and mattresses, carpets, kitchen units/worktops/sinks, doors, bathroom and toilet suites, bicycles, ladders, garden furniture and barbecues, fully drained oil tanks/boilers/radiators, children's swings/slides, prams/buggies/large toys. Not accepted: bagged household or bin waste, garden waste, rubble/soil/plasterboard/asbestos, large amounts of renovation waste, glass, gas cylinders, paints and other hazardous waste, batteries, fluorescent tubes, electrical goods.
Fingal County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Fingal County Council does not offer a bulky waste collection service. Use an authorised collector with a National Waste Collection Permit Office (NWCPO) permit – the council publishes a list – or bring items to Coolmine or Estuary recycling centres for the per-vehicle fee.
South Dublin County Council — no bulky-waste collection. No council bulky collection – SDCC exited the waste collection service in 2011 and has no plans to reintroduce it. Residents use permitted private collectors or bring items to Ballymount Civic Amenity. The council runs periodic free community initiatives with social enterprise RecycleIT, e.g. a mattress amnesty (in 2025 mattresses could also be dropped free at RecycleIT, Crag Industrial Estate, D22) and door-to-door WEEE collection days before Halloween.
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council — no bulky-waste collection. DLR transferred its household waste collection service to private companies in 2010 and offers no bulky-waste kerbside collection. Residents use permitted private collectors or bring items to Ballyogan Recycling Park. Occasional free Mattress Amnesty Days are held at Ballyogan (most recent: Saturday 5 September 2026, 9:30am–5:30pm).

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.
Or we come to you
Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.

The clearance. Our trolleys, our crew, one visit within the facility’s hours.

Quick quote for storage unit clearance in Dublin
Name, phone and one line about the job. We ring you back within the hour (8am–8pm) with a price, or ask for a couple of photos first.

What affects the price in Dublin
Unit size — the quickest measure
Floor and lift — ground-floor drive-up versus a second-floor goods lift
Contents — furniture-heavy units weigh more than box-heavy ones
Reuse — good furniture lowers the cost
Facility hours — tight windows can mean a second visit
We’re based in Athy and run into Dublin daily — city-centre jobs are about 75 minutes from our yard, which is why we schedule Dublin work in rounds rather than one-offs, and why our quotes for Dublin don’t carry a long-distance premium. Send photos through the quote form or on WhatsApp and you’ll have a fixed price the same day.

Storage Unit Clearance in Dublin: frequently asked questions
Can you clear a unit without me there?
Yes, if the facility allows it — most do with your written authorisation and a code. We photograph the unit before and after.
Do you know the storage facilities in Dublin?
The main ones, yes — we work in them regularly. Tell us which, and we’ll know the lift, the trolley rules and the hours.
Can you bring some things to me and dispose of the rest?
Yes. Tag or list what you want, and we deliver those and dispose of the rest in the same trip.
What about a unit that belonged to someone who has died?
We do these carefully. The facility will need the executor’s authorisation; after that we clear the unit, set aside anything personal, and bring it to the family.
Can you clear a shipping container or a lock-up?
Yes — containers on yards and lock-ups behind houses are common in Dublin, and the only difference is the access for our truck.
How quickly?
Usually within the week; small units often within a day or two.
Can you take a business’s archive boxes for shredding?
Yes — bagged for confidential shredding through our partner, with a certificate, or archived if you prefer.
The unit has a padlock and I’ve lost the key.
The facility can usually cut it with your authorisation. Arrange that with them first and we do the rest.
Can you clear a unit in another county and bring things to me?
Yes — clearing a unit in Dublin and delivering keepsakes to Dublin, or the reverse, is a normal job for us.
Do you deal with the facility’s paperwork?
We sign in and out and can hand the keys or fob back to the office. Cancelling the account is yours to do.
What if the unit is bigger than I thought?
We tell you before we start the second load, not after. The quote is based on the unit size and your photos; if it’s packed to the ceiling, say so.
Does the council collect bulky items in Dublin?
Dublin City Council does — a bookable collection at €50 for up to five items, with a wait of up to ten days, for furniture and mattresses but not electricals, garden waste or rubble. Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown offer no bulky collection at all. Details are in the council section above.
How far is Dublin from your base?
We’re based in Athy and run into Dublin daily — city-centre jobs are about 75 minutes from our yard, which is why we schedule Dublin work in rounds rather than one-offs, and why our quotes for Dublin don’t carry a long-distance premium.
