Bereavement Clearance Clontarf
Probate and estate clearances in Clontarf — we work with families, executors and solicitors, and set aside anything personal we find.
A bereavement clearance in Clontarf is not a normal house clearance. Boxes get opened rather than binned, paperwork and photographs are set aside, and nothing personal goes on the truck until someone in the family has seen it.
Clontarf is in the Dublin City area, about 4.5 km east of the city centre. Krystal Klean Express Limited holds Waste Collection Permit No. NWCPO-25-13287-01 issued by the NWCPO and is fully insured, including public liability — details we are happy to send to a solicitor for the estate file.

Our approach
Two things matter most in this work: care and pace. Care means opening boxes instead of assuming, and setting aside anything personal for the family. Pace means the job happens when you are ready — some families in Clontarf want it done in a single day, others want the house cleared a room at a time over a few weeks. Both are fine, and neither costs more per hour than the other.
Homes we clear in Clontarf
Most Clontarf bereavement clearances are three- or four-bedroom houses being prepared for sale. Driveway access makes the loading straightforward; the attic and garage usually hold more than anyone expects.
Things we always set aside
Documents and paperwork of any kind, photographs and albums, letters and cards, jewellery, watches, coins and medals, religious items, handbags and wallets, keys, small electronics that may hold photographs, and anything that looks handmade or personal. If you want, we will box them by room so it is clear where each item came from.
Paperwork we can provide
Executors sometimes need our waste collection permit number, insurance details or a written quote for the estate file before anything is agreed. Ask and we will send them. We can also invoice the estate directly rather than an individual family member.
No pressure, no timetable
Some families in Clontarf want the house cleared within a fortnight; others need months. Neither is wrong and neither costs more. We work to your date, and we can stop mid-job if it becomes too much for a day.
Cost and first steps
The price depends on how much is in the house, how easy it is to get out, and whether there is a date to work to. Working room by room across several visits costs no more than doing it in one day. Send photographs when you are ready, or ask us to call out and look — either way the quote is free and carries no obligation.
When you are ready, use the form on this page, call 083 090 4545 or 059 865 2981, or send photographs on WhatsApp. We are here Mon–Sat 7am–8pm.
Clearing in stages
Some families take the personal rooms themselves and ask us to do the rest; others want everything done in one visit. We can also do a first pass — furniture and bulk out, personal items left boxed — so the family can go through things in their own time before we come back.

Questions families ask
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Krystal Klean Express Limited holds Waste Collection Permit No. NWCPO-25-13287-01 issued by the NWCPO and carries full insurance, including public liability.
What if we find something after the clearance?
Tell us as soon as you can. Loads are sorted rather than tipped straight away, so there is often a window in which something can still be recovered.
How soon after a death can the house be cleared?
There is no fixed rule, and there is no hurry from our side. Many families wait until probate has been granted, or at least until the executor and family have agreed. Your solicitor will advise on the estate side; whenever you are ready, we can work to your date.
Can you deal with the solicitor or executor instead of me?
Yes. We can agree access, dates and invoicing directly with the executor or the solicitor's office, and supply our waste permit and insurance details for the file.
What happens to photographs and documents?
They are set aside for the family rather than loaded. Paperwork, photographs, letters, jewellery, medals and anything that looks personal is put to one side as we go, boxed by room if that helps.
I live abroad — can the clearance still go ahead?
Yes, and it is common. We work from a key, a key safe or an agent, keep one point of contact, and send photographs of each room as it is finished.
Can family members take items first?
Of course. Most families go through the house first and mark what is being kept. If that is not possible, tell us what to look for and we will set it aside rather than load it.
