Fridge, freezer and washing machine disposal in Dublin

Fridges, freezers, chest freezers, washing machines, dryers, cookers and TVs collected from inside your home, garage or office anywhere in Dublin, and sent for electrical (WEEE) recycling.

Kitchen with a washing machine, fridge and cooker before the appliances were collected

Old appliances are WEEE — waste electrical and electronic equipment — and they have to be recycled at an authorised facility, not put in a bin or a skip. Fridges and freezers especially: the gases in the cooling system and the insulation have to be recovered properly.

If you’re buying a replacement, ask the shop first: retailers have to take back your old appliance of the same type free of charge when they deliver the new one. For everything else — the chest freezer in the garage, the washing machine a tenant left behind, the office kitchen fridge, the cooker after a kitchen refit — we collect. Dublin City Council’s bulky-waste collection doesn’t take electrical goods.

What we take

  • Fridges, fridge-freezers and American-style fridges
  • Chest freezers and upright freezers
  • Washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers
  • Electric cookers and ovens (disconnected)
  • Microwaves, TVs and small appliances
  • Office kitchen appliances and water coolers

What we don’t do:

  • Disconnecting gas cookers — that must be done by a registered gas installer before we arrive
  • Disconnecting hard-wired electric cookers — that needs an electrician
  • Commercial refrigeration units — ask us first

Before we arrive

Empty and defrost fridges and freezers if you can, and switch off and drain the washing machine. If a tenant has left the fridge full, we still take it — just tell us in the photo message.

We don’t do gas or electrical work: a gas cooker must be disconnected by a registered gas installer, and a hard-wired cooker by an electrician. Once it’s disconnected, we take it from there.

Landlords and offices

Appliances left behind at the end of a tenancy, or an office kitchen being replaced, are regular jobs for us. If it’s more than the appliances, our end-of-tenancy clearance and office clearance cover the rest.

Recycled, not dumped

Every appliance goes for WEEE recycling at an authorised facility. We collect under Krystal Klean Express Limited’s Waste Collection Permit No. NWCPO-25-13287-01.

How it works

  1. Photo of the appliance. And where it is: kitchen, garage, upstairs, office floor.
  2. Fixed price. Including the carrying.
  3. Pick a day. We run into Dublin every working day.
  4. WEEE recycling. Taken to an authorised facility for recycling.

Appliance disposal: common questions

Will the shop take my old fridge?

If you’re buying a new one of the same type, yes — retailers have to take back the old appliance free of charge when they deliver. Ask when you order. If you’re not buying a replacement, we can collect it.

Does the council collect fridges in Dublin?

No. Dublin City Council’s bulky-waste collection doesn’t take electrical goods, and the other three Dublin councils don’t run a bulky collection.

Do I need to defrost the fridge first?

It helps — empty it and defrost it a day before if you can. If that isn’t possible, tell us and we’ll still take it.

Can you disconnect my gas cooker?

No. A gas cooker must be disconnected by a registered gas installer. Once it’s disconnected we can take it away.

Can you take a chest freezer from the garage?

Yes. Garages, sheds and utility rooms are no problem — we do the lifting.

Can you take several appliances in one visit?

Yes — a kitchen’s worth of appliances, or a fridge plus the old furniture, in one trip.

How much does fridge disposal cost?

It depends on what the appliances are and where they are. Send a photo and you’ll get a fixed price.
