Furniture and sofa disposal in Kildare

Old sofas, couches, armchairs, beds, wardrobes and tables collected from inside your home anywhere in Co. Kildare — dismantled if they need to be, loaded and taken away.

Old sofa being carried out of a house for disposal

Furniture is the stuff the bin won’t take and the car won’t carry. Kildare County Council doesn’t collect bulky household waste — there’s no council pick-up for a mattress, a sofa or a wardrobe anywhere in the county.

So when a new sofa is on the way, a room is being redone, or a rented house has been left full, the old furniture needs a permitted carrier with a truck and two people to lift. We’re based in Athy and work across the county every week.

What we take

  • Sofas, couches, corner sofas and sofa beds
  • Armchairs, recliners and footstools — electric recliners too
  • Beds, divans, bunk beds and mattresses
  • Wardrobes, chests of drawers and sideboards
  • Dining tables, chairs and coffee tables
  • Garden furniture, desks and office chairs

One piece or a full house

Most furniture jobs are small: the old sofa before the new one is delivered, the wardrobe that wouldn’t fit in the new room. We do those every day. For a single mattress, see mattress disposal in Kildare; for a whole property, our house clearance service in Kildare.

Getting it out without damage

If it came in, it can come out. Wardrobes and bed frames are taken apart in the room; corner sofas are unbolted into their sections; sofa beds have their mechanism folded or removed. The crew protects door frames, banisters and floors on the way out.

Reuse first

Furniture in good condition is set aside for reuse where we can, which keeps disposal costs down — and we pass that saving on. What can’t be reused is sorted for recycling, and the rest goes to authorised facilities.

Landlords and letting agents

Furniture left behind at the end of a tenancy is a regular job for us in Naas, Newbridge, Maynooth, Celbridge, Leixlip and Kildare Town. Send photos of each room and we’ll quote to empty it, so the property can be cleaned and re-let.

How it works

  1. Photos of each piece. WhatsApp or the form — one photo per item or per room, and tell us the floor.
  2. Fixed price. One price for the lifting, loading and disposal.
  3. A day that suits. Next-day is usual in Kildare; we work six days a week.
  4. Gone. Carried out, loaded, and sorted for reuse, recycling and authorised disposal.

Furniture disposal: common questions

Does Kildare County Council collect old furniture?

No. There’s no council bulky-waste collection in Kildare, so old furniture has to go with a permitted waste carrier — or in your own van.

Will you take just one sofa?

Yes. Single items are a big part of what we do. Send a photo and we’ll price it.

Can you take furniture from upstairs?

Yes. We collect from the room it’s in, on any floor, and do all the carrying.

Do you dismantle wardrobes and beds?

Yes, on the spot — that’s often the only way they come out of a bedroom.

Do you take electric recliners?

Yes. The chair goes with the rest of the furniture and the motor and wiring go for electrical (WEEE) recycling.

How much does furniture disposal cost?

It depends on how much there is, how heavy it is and how easy it is to get out. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed price, usually the same day.

What happens to the furniture?

Good pieces are set aside for reuse where possible, recyclable materials are separated, and the rest goes to authorised waste facilities. Nothing is dumped.
