Mattress disposal in Kildare

One mattress or a dozen, collected from inside the house. We carry it down the stairs, load it and take it away under our waste collection permit. We’re based in Athy, so most of Kildare is 20 to 45 minutes from our yard.

Bedroom with a bed, chair and bedside locker before the furniture was collected

Kildare County Council doesn’t collect bulky household waste — there’s no council pick-up for a mattress, a sofa or a wardrobe anywhere in the county. A double mattress won’t go in most cars, and leaving it in the garden or the side passage only makes it heavier and harder to shift.

That’s the job we do: you send a photo, we give you a fixed price, and on the day the crew carries the mattress out of the bedroom — you don’t need to bring it downstairs or out to the road first.

What we take

  • Single, double, king and super-king mattresses
  • Pocket-sprung, foam, memory-foam and hybrid mattresses
  • Cot, toddler and bunk-bed mattresses
  • Divan bases — split in two if they won’t go round the landing
  • Bed frames and headboards, dismantled on the spot
  • Mattress toppers, pillows and duvets (bagged)

Who books a mattress collection in Kildare

Mostly households whose new bed arrived without the old one being taken away. But also landlords between tenants in Naas, Newbridge and Maynooth, holiday lets and B&Bs changing several beds at once, student houses at the end of the academic year, and families clearing a parent’s house.

If it’s more than the mattress — the whole bedroom, or the whole house — see furniture and sofa disposal in Kildare or our house clearance service in Kildare.

Wet, stained or damaged mattresses

We take them. A mattress that has been left out in the rain or has been soiled is still just a mattress to us. If you can, bag or wrap it, and mention it when you send the photo so the crew comes prepared.

Disposed of legally — and you can check

A mattress handed to someone without a permit who then dumps it can be traced back to the household it came from. We’re a permitted waste carrier — Krystal Klean Express Limited, Waste Collection Permit No. NWCPO-25-13287-01 — and every load goes to authorised waste facilities. You can look the permit up on the National Waste Collection Permit Office register.

How it works

  1. Send a photo. One photo of each mattress on WhatsApp or through the form — tell us the size, how many, and which floor.
  2. Get a fixed price. We reply with a price for the whole job, carrying included.
  3. Pick a day. Kildare is our home patch, so we can usually offer a next-day slot and often the same day.
  4. We carry it out. The crew brings it down, loads it and takes it to an authorised facility.

Mattress disposal: common questions

Does Kildare County Council collect mattresses?

No. Kildare County Council doesn’t run a bulky-waste collection, so a mattress has to be brought away by the householder or collected by a permitted waste carrier like us.

Do I need to bring the mattress downstairs?

No. We collect from the room it’s in. Stairs, landings and tight turns are part of the job — that’s what you’re paying a crew for.

Can you take several mattresses at once?

Yes. Landlords, holiday lets and guesthouses often have four, six or more. Tell us how many in the photo message and we’ll price them together.

Will you take the divan base and bed frame too?

Yes. Divan bases, slatted frames, metal frames and headboards all go — we dismantle frames on the spot if they won’t come out in one piece.

How soon can you collect in Kildare?

We’re based in Athy and most of the county is 20 to 45 minutes away, so a next-day slot is usual and same-day is often possible. We work Mon–Sat 7am–8pm.

How much does mattress disposal cost?

It depends on how many mattresses there are, their size, and how easy they are to get out. Send a photo on WhatsApp and we’ll come back with a fixed price — no obligation.

Can you take the rest of the bedroom at the same time?

Yes — wardrobes, chests of drawers, the bed frame, bags of bedding. See furniture disposal in Kildare.
