Mattress disposal in Dublin

Mattresses collected from inside your house or apartment anywhere in Dublin — any size, any floor, one or many — and disposed of under our waste collection permit.

Bedroom left empty after the bed, mattress and furniture were removed

What the council will do for an old mattress depends on where in Dublin you live. Dublin City Council runs a bookable bulky-waste collection: €50 for up to five items, paid in advance, with the items left out on the public footpath on the morning of collection. You can’t choose the day, and it can take up to ten days after you pay. Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown don’t collect bulky items from homes at all.

We collect from inside the property, on a day you choose, and we do the carrying — including the three flights in the apartment block with no lift.

What we take

  • Single, double, king and super-king mattresses
  • Foam, memory-foam, pocket-sprung and hybrid
  • Cot, toddler and bunk-bed mattresses
  • Divan bases, bed frames and headboards
  • Mattress toppers, pillows and duvets (bagged)
  • Several mattresses at once — landlords, hostels, guesthouses

Apartments

Most of our Dublin mattress collections are from apartments. We book the lift with the management company where we need to, follow the building’s rules for removals, and carry it down the stairs where there’s no lift. Nothing gets left in the bin store.

Landlords, hostels and student lets

Changing every mattress in a rental or a guesthouse at once? Send a photo and a count, and we’ll take the lot in one visit — frames and bedding too.

If a tenant has left the whole flat full, our end-of-tenancy clearance covers everything.

Stained, wet or damaged

We take them. Bag or wrap a soiled mattress if you can, and mention it in the photo message so the crew comes prepared.

Legal disposal

Every load leaves under Krystal Klean Express Limited’s Waste Collection Permit No. NWCPO-25-13287-01 and goes to authorised waste facilities. A mattress given to an unpermitted collector who dumps it can be traced back to you — a permit is your protection.

How it works

  1. Photo on WhatsApp. Show us the mattress and tell us the size, how many, the floor and whether there’s a lift.
  2. Fixed price. Carrying included — no surprises on the day.
  3. Your day. We run into Dublin every working day and schedule jobs in rounds — tell us your deadline.
  4. Carried out and gone. Loaded, taken away and disposed of at an authorised facility.

Mattress disposal: common questions

Does Dublin City Council collect mattresses?

Yes, through its bookable bulky-waste collection — €50 for up to five items, left out on the public footpath on the morning of collection, on a date the council chooses, which can be up to ten days after you pay. Fingal, South Dublin and Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown don’t collect bulky items.

Do I need to bring the mattress down to the street?

No. We collect from the room it’s in. That’s the main difference from the council collection, where it has to be out on the footpath.

I live in an apartment with no lift — is that a problem?

No. We carry it down the stairs. Tell us the floor when you send the photo so the price is right.

Can you take several mattresses?

Yes — landlords, hostels, student accommodation and guesthouses regularly have us take a batch in one visit.

Can you come on a specific day?

Yes. Tell us the day you need — before a new bed is delivered, before a tenant moves in — and we’ll book it.

How much does mattress disposal cost in Dublin?

It depends on how many, the size, and the access (floor, lift, parking). Send a photo and we’ll give you a fixed price.

What happens to the mattress?

It goes to an authorised waste facility under our permit. It is never dumped.
