Commercial Waste Removal in Co. Louth
The waste the bin company won’t take — fit-outs, fixtures, old stock, a unit’s leftovers, a landlord’s void. Collected around your opening hours, by a permitted carrier, across Louth.
Commercial Waste by county: DublinKildareWicklowKilkennyLaoisCarlowMeathLouthLongfordOffalyWestmeathWexford

Your bin contract covers the bins. It doesn’t cover the shelving from the refit, the stock that didn’t sell, the fittings the last tenant left in the unit, the broken chairs in the storeroom, or the skip-load that comes out when a premises changes hands. For that you need a one-off collection from a carrier that is permitted to take commercial waste — and that matters more than people think, because the business that produced the waste is responsible for where it ends up.
ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, an authorised waste carrier holding Waste Collection Permit No. NWCPO-25-13287-01, with public liability insurance. We collect from shops, offices, landlords, property managers, schools, clubs and small industrial units across Louth, and we schedule around trading hours. Louth is the furthest county we cover — Drogheda is about an hour and a half from Athy, Ardee and Dunleer a little more, and Dundalk and the Cooley peninsula around two hours. We run Louth jobs in batches, usually one or two days a fortnight, so we can keep the price fair; the trade-off is that we’ll offer you a date rather than a same-week slot.

Full commercial clearance in Louth
A premises emptied end to end — the shop floor, the stockroom, the office upstairs, the yard. Fixtures and fittings, shelving and racking, counters, display units, signage, old stock, packaging, furniture, IT equipment, and the general accumulation of a business that has traded for years. We separate metal, timber, cardboard, WEEE and general waste as we load, because commercial loads are charged by weight at the facility and sorting keeps that honest. Where fittings have resale value we’ll tell you. A small retail unit is typically a day; a larger premises or a full yard is several loads.
For landlords and managing agents: void units cleared between tenants, with photographs and an invoice per unit. For tenants: cleared to the condition the lease requires, with the dilapidations schedule in mind.
One-off and partial commercial collections in Louth
Most commercial jobs are smaller than a full clearance: the pile of flattened cardboard the bin company won’t take, the old shelving after a refit, the broken furniture in the storeroom, the stock that’s been written off, the leftovers after the Christmas rush. We collect that as a one-off — often the same week, sometimes the same day — and we can set up a standing arrangement if it recurs.
What we take — and what we don’t
- Shop fittings, shelving, racking, counters and display units
- Office furniture and IT equipment (WEEE)
- Written-off stock, packaging and cardboard in bulk
- Timber, pallets and crates
- Fit-out and refurbishment leftovers (non-hazardous)
- Contents of void units, storerooms and yards
- General commercial waste that doesn’t fit the bin contract
- Signage, fixtures and the awkward large items
Not included: Hazardous and clinical waste (we can point you to licensed handlers); Food waste in bulk (separate collectors); Asbestos.
Commercial Waste across Co. Louth: every town we cover
We provide commercial waste removal in all 29 towns and villages below, and at the rural addresses between them. Louth is Ireland’s smallest county but it has two of its biggest towns: Drogheda in the south, straddling the Boyne, and Dundalk in the north under the Cooley mountains, with Ardee, Dunleer and the Castlebellingham villages between them and a run of coastal villages from Baltray up to Carlingford and Omeath. Louth County Council does not collect bulky waste. Its two civic amenity centres at Dundalk and Drogheda (both run by V&W Recycling) charge a €4 entry plus item charges that aren’t published online, and the annual mattress-and-couch amnesty in early September is the only free route for furniture.
Dundalk’s Finnabair and Coes Road estates, Drogheda’s Donore Road and the IDA parks on the M1, Ardee’s smaller units, and the retail along both towns’ main streets make up Louth’s commercial work, plus a lot of cross-border haulage and agri businesses. We plan Louth business clearances as full-day jobs.

Doing it yourself in Louth: what the council offers
Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Louth County Council will and won’t do for commercial waste removal. Electrical items — fridges, washing machines, TVs, computers — are free to drop at every council site as WEEE, and we take them as part of any job. Dundalk Recycling Centre (V&W Civic Amenity Centre) and Drogheda Recycling Centre (V&W Civic Amenity Centre) are for household waste only — commercial loads are turned away. Watch the vehicle rules: Cars and car trailers admitted (trailer charge applies for green waste); no commercial vehicles or commercial waste. Van policy not published - ring ahead.
Louth County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Louth County Council does not collect household waste or bulky items and has no bookable bulky-waste service. It directs residents to the two civic amenity centres in Dundalk and Drogheda, both run by V&W Recycling, where beds, couches, carpet/lino, children's toys and bags of non-recyclable domestic waste are accepted for a charge (ring 042 9329200 or 041 9803900 for the price list - V&W do not publish bulky prices online), or to the nine authorised bulky-waste / skip operators the council lists (e.g. Pronto Waste Clearance & Recycling 087 2912911, Skips on Wheels 083 1552410). Once a year, under the Anti-Dumping Initiative, the council runs a free Mattress & Couch Amnesty, normally over two days in early September: in 2025 it was Wed 3 September 9:30am–5:30pm at the V&W centres in Dundalk and Drogheda and Thu 4 September 9:30am–3:30pm at Kieran & McGee Livestock Sales Yard, Ardee (A92 VP92); in 2024 it was 11–12 September at the same three locations. Only mattresses, sofas and armchairs are taken, maximum 3 items per vehicle, the council covers the disposal cost but the normal €4 entry charge still applies at Dundalk and Drogheda (Ardee is free). The 2025 event took in 2,233 mattresses and 2,124 couches. Dates are announced on louthcoco.ie and in the Dundalk Democrat / Drogheda Independent in August.

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.
Or we come to you
Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.
How commercial waste removal works with us
Tell us what and when. Photos of the load, the address, access (loading bay, shutter, stairs) and when you can’t have us on site.
A written quote. Fixed where the load is clear; capped where it isn’t. Account terms for regular work.
Collection. Timed around trading — early, late or weekend where needed. Sorted as loaded.
Paperwork. Invoice and, where you want it, a note of the facility the load went to, for your records.

What affects the price in Louth
Weight — commercial loads are weighed at the facility; sorting metal, timber and cardboard out lowers it

Timing — out-of-hours collection where the premises can’t have us during trading
Access — shutters, loading bays, upstairs stockrooms, yard gates
Recurring work — standing rates for landlords, agents and multi-site businesses

Commercial Waste in Louth: frequently asked questions
Are you permitted to take commercial waste?
Yes. Krystal Klean Express Limited holds NWCPO permit NWCPO-25-13287-01. You can check it on the NWCPO register — and you should check any collector, because the producer of the waste shares the responsibility for where it goes.
Can you come outside trading hours?
Yes. Early morning, after close and Saturday collections are normal for shops and offices in Louth. Tell us the window.
Do you provide paperwork for our records?
An invoice as standard, and on request a note of the facility the load went to. Businesses with an environmental policy or a landlord’s lease requirement often ask for it.
Can we set up a regular collection?
Yes — weekly, monthly, or “call when the storeroom is full”. We agree a rate and you email or WhatsApp when you need us.
Do you clear void units for landlords?
A large part of what we do. Keys from the agent, cleared, photographed, invoiced per unit. See also the office clearance and warehouse clearance pages for Louth.
Which parts of Louth do you cover for businesses?
All of it — every town on this page and the business parks and industrial estates around them.
Can we get a regular collection on a contract?
Yes — monthly, quarterly or “when the storeroom is full”, at an agreed rate. Email or WhatsApp when you need us and we slot you in.
Do you provide waste transfer documentation?
On request, yes — a record of the load and the facility it went to, under our permit. Businesses with an environmental policy or an auditor usually want it.
Can you take cardboard and packaging in bulk?
Yes. Clean cardboard is baled or bagged for recycling and priced separately from mixed waste, which keeps the bill down.
We’re a school / club / charity. Do you do those?
Yes — schools, GAA clubs, community halls and charities are regular Louth customers, often for a once-a-year clear-out.
Can you clear a unit the landlord has repossessed?
Yes, once the landlord has the legal right to it. We clear, photograph and invoice the landlord or agent directly.
Does Louth County Council collect bulky items?
No. Louth County Council does not run a bulky-waste collection. Your options are the council recycling centres listed above — with their charges and limits — or a permitted private collector like us.
How far is Louth from your base?
Louth is the furthest county we cover — Drogheda is about an hour and a half from Athy, Ardee and Dunleer a little more, and Dundalk and the Cooley peninsula around two hours. We run Louth jobs in batches, usually one or two days a fortnight, so we can keep the price fair; the trade-off is that we’ll offer you a date rather than a same-week slot.
