Industrial units, workshops and warehouses emptied — racking, pallets, stock, machinery and the stuff that accumulates at the back. Scrap credited, loads sorted, across Westmeath.
Warehouse Clearance by county: DublinKildareWicklowKilkennyLaoisCarlowMeathLouthLongfordOffalyWestmeathWexford

Warehouses are cleared for the same reasons as houses — a lease ends, a business closes or moves, a unit is sold — but the scale is different and so is the weight. Steel racking by the tonne, timber pallets by the hundred, stock that can’t be sold, machinery that can’t be moved, packaging, offcuts and the layer of general waste that settles at the back of any unit over ten years. Westmeath’s business parks and the older industrial estates on the edges of its towns are familiar ground for us.
We clear with a crew sized to the unit, sort metal, timber, cardboard and WEEE for recycling and scrap credit, and take the general waste under our permit. ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01, insured for industrial premises. Kinnegad and Kilbeggan are about an hour from Athy, Mullingar roughly 70 minutes, Moate and Athlone about an hour and a half, and Castlepollard and the lake country in the north nearer an hour and three-quarters. We group Westmeath jobs by side of the county — Mullingar and the east one day, Athlone and the west another.

Full warehouse clearance in Westmeath
The unit emptied to the lease standard: racking dismantled and removed, pallets and packaging cleared, dead stock loaded, machinery and plant removed where it can be moved by hand or pallet truck, the office and welfare rooms cleared, the yard tidied. Steel racking and scrap metal are weighed in and credited against the job. Timber goes as a separate stream because it’s cheaper to dispose of clean. Cardboard is baled or bagged for recycling. We work with the landlord’s dilapidations schedule in front of us so what’s left is what the lease says should be left. A small unit is a day; a large warehouse is several days and a sequence of loads.
Partial warehouse clearance in Westmeath
Clearing a bay to make room for new racking; getting rid of dead stock before stocktake; removing the old machinery; collecting the pallet mountain. We do single-stream collections — just the metal, just the timber, just the WEEE — priced for what they are. Where it recurs, we set up a standing collection.
What we take — and what we don’t
- Pallet racking and shelving — dismantled and scrapped or reused
- Pallets, crates and timber packaging
- Written-off and dead stock
- Machinery and plant that can be moved without a crane
- Cardboard, plastic wrap and packaging in bulk
- Office and welfare room contents
- Yard clearance — skips of accumulated rubbish, scrap, old fencing
- WEEE — IT, lighting, electrical plant
Not included: Hazardous and chemical waste (licensed handlers only — we can arrange); Craned machinery removal (we can arrange); Asbestos.
Warehouse Clearance across Co. Westmeath: every town we cover
We provide a warehouse clearance in all 38 towns and villages below, and at the rural addresses between them. Westmeath is two towns and the lakes between: Mullingar in the east with the N4 villages (Kinnegad, Killucan, Rochfortbridge, Castlepollard, Delvin) and Athlone on the Shannon in the west with Moate, Kilbeggan and the Glassan–Ballykeeran lake villages. Westmeath County Council runs no bulky-waste collection. Its two recycling centres — Mullingar (run by Mulleadys) and Athlone (Barna) — are household-use only, charge by vehicle type plus items, and the council’s fee sheet isn’t readable online, so most people ring first. Free mattress and bulky-goods amnesty days run periodically but need pre-registration.
Mullingar’s Lough Sheever and Clonmore parks, Athlone’s Monksland, Blyry and Garrycastle estates, the IDA sites and the retail along both main streets make up the commercial side, with agri and food businesses throughout. We plan Westmeath commercial work as full days.

Doing it yourself in Westmeath: what the council offers
Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Westmeath County Council will and won’t do for a warehouse clearance. Timber is taken at Mullingar Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) and Athlone Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), Golden Island, usually cheaper than general waste if it’s kept separate. Electrical items — fridges, washing machines, TVs, computers — are free to drop at every council site as WEEE, and we take them as part of any job. Mullingar Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) and Athlone Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), Golden Island are for household waste only — commercial loads are turned away. Mullingar Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) will weigh in commercial waste at business rates.
Westmeath County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Westmeath County Council does not provide a household bulky-waste collection or a council bin service. Bulky items are taken to the two council recycling centres (Mullingar and Athlone) or collected by a permitted private collector. The council runs periodic free amnesty days at the two centres in partnership with the site operators: Mattress Amnesty Days (e.g. Nov 2023, Aug 2020 — up to 3 mattresses free per registered Westmeath household, extra mattresses €10 single / €18 double, clean and dry only) and a Bulky Goods Amnesty Day (e.g. Sat 14 Dec 2024, 10am–4pm, Mullingar Recycling Centre). Amnesty days are for domestic householders only and require pre-registration online with a Westmeath Eircode, vehicle registration and mobile number — no registration, no access. Register at mulleadys.com/booking (Mullingar) or barnarecycling.com/booking (Athlone).

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.
Or we come to you
Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.
How a warehouse clearance works with us
Site visit. For warehouses we come and look — the weight and the mix decide the price.
Plan. Days, loads, what’s scrapped, what’s reused, what the lease requires. Fixed or capped price.
The clearance. Crew and trucks to match, racking down, streams separated, scrap weighed.
Handover. Unit swept, photographed, scrap credit shown on the invoice.

What affects the price in Westmeath
Weight — the dominant factor; metal and timber are credited or cheap, mixed waste is dear
Racking — dismantling time versus scrap value
Loads — sequence of truck loads over days
Machinery — hand-moved versus craned
Lease requirements — the standard the unit must be left in

Warehouse Clearance in Westmeath: frequently asked questions
Do you credit scrap metal?
Yes. Racking, steel and other metal is weighed in and credited against the clearance. On a racked-out unit it can cover a meaningful part of the cost.
Can you dismantle pallet racking?
Yes, safely and in order. Tell us the bays and height and we’ll size the crew.
What about machinery?
Anything that moves by hand or pallet truck, we take. Heavier plant we arrange with a crane or specialist mover.
Can you meet the landlord’s dilapidations schedule?
Yes — send it to us and we clear to it, photographing the unit at the end for both sides.
Do you work weekends?
Yes, and for busy estates it’s often easier — fewer trucks about, more room at the shutter.
Which industrial areas of Westmeath do you cover?
All of them — every business park and estate around the towns on this page.
Do you need a forklift on site?
It helps and we’ll use yours if it’s available and we’re authorised. Otherwise we bring pallet trucks and size the crew to suit.
Can you take the mezzanine floor?
Mezzanine dismantling is structural work — we can arrange it with a specialist and clear what comes down.
What about dead stock that has to be destroyed?
We can arrange witnessed destruction with a certificate where a brand or an insurer requires it.
Can you clear the yard as well as the unit?
Yes — skips of accumulated rubbish, scrap, old fencing, pallets and weeds. Yard clearances are often half the job.
Do you work on industrial estates across Westmeath?
All of them. Estate security, gate hours and shared yards are normal for us; tell us the estate and we’ll plan the access.
Does Westmeath County Council collect bulky items?
No. Westmeath County Council does not run a bulky-waste collection. Your options are the council recycling centres listed above — with their charges and limits — or a permitted private collector like us.
How far is Westmeath from your base?
Kinnegad and Kilbeggan are about an hour from Athy, Mullingar roughly 70 minutes, Moate and Athlone about an hour and a half, and Castlepollard and the lake country in the north nearer an hour and three-quarters. We group Westmeath jobs by side of the county — Mullingar and the east one day, Athlone and the west another.
