Apartment Clearance in Co. Meath
Purpose-built apartments come with their own rules — lifts to book, bin stores you can’t use for furniture, management companies to keep onside. We clear apartments across Meath without the drama.
Apartment Clearance by county: DublinKildareWicklowKilkennyLaoisCarlowMeathLouthLongfordOffalyWestmeathWexford

An apartment clearance is a logistics job as much as a lifting one. The furniture is the same as a house — a sofa, a bed, a wardrobe, a table — but it has to come down a stairwell or through a lift that may need to be booked and protected, out through a lobby with a door code, past a bin store that explicitly bans bulky items, and onto a truck that is allowed to stop for twenty minutes at most. Get any of that wrong and the management company is on the phone.
We do this every week. ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01, with public liability insurance that management agents will ask to see — we send it before we arrive. Meath is a proper run for us — south Meath (Enfield, Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Ashbourne) is about an hour from Athy via the M4 and M50, Navan and Trim roughly 80 minutes, and Kells, Oldcastle and the coast around Laytown nearer an hour and three-quarters. We cover it by grouping Meath jobs on set days each week, so a one-off job here is priced as part of a round rather than a special trip.

Full apartment clearance in Meath
Everything out: furniture, beds and mattresses, white goods if the apartment isn’t being let furnished, the contents of the kitchen presses and the hot press, the balcony furniture and the bikes nobody collected. We protect the lift and the corridor walls, carry what won’t fit the lift down the stairs, and stage it in the loading bay or on the street in short bursts so nothing sits blocking a fire route. Most one- and two-bed apartments are a half-day job with one truck; a large three-bed penthouse with a full balcony is a day.
If it’s a landlord’s apartment between tenancies, we photograph it empty for your records. If it’s a sale, we leave it ready for the agent’s photographer.
Partial apartment clearance in Meath
The most common apartment job we do is partial: the old sofa and mattress a tenant left behind, the furniture that won’t fit the new place, the contents of one bedroom that’s become storage. Small apartment jobs are quick — often under an hour on site — so they’re priced accordingly. We can also do a “swap”: remove the old sofa the morning the new one is delivered so you’re never without one.
What we take — and what we don’t
- Sofas, armchairs, beds, mattresses, wardrobes and flat-pack furniture
- White goods and small appliances
- Kitchen and bathroom contents
- Balcony furniture, plant pots, bikes
- Carpets, rugs, blinds and curtains
- Boxed belongings and general household waste
- Items dumped in bin stores and communal areas (for management companies)
Not included: Hazardous materials; Items belonging to other residents without the management company’s written say-so.
Apartment Clearance across Co. Meath: every town we cover
We provide an apartment clearance in all 52 towns and villages below, and at the rural addresses between them. Meath is big and busy: the commuter towns along the Dublin border (Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Clonee) grew enormously in the 2000s; Navan, Trim and Kells are the old market towns in the middle; the coast strip from Laytown to Mornington looks to Drogheda; and the north and west — Oldcastle, Nobber, Athboy, Enfield — is rural and quiet. Meath County Council runs no bulky-waste collection. Its three recycling centres (Navan, Kells, Trim) charge a flat gate fee plus a price per item of furniture, and there is no council site at all in east Meath — people in Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunboyne and the coast are sent to Dunboyne’s private facility or across the county line.
Expect large 2000s estates of semis and townhouses in the commuter towns, plenty of apartment schemes in Ashbourne, Navan and Dunboyne with management-company rules, Georgian and Victorian terraces in Navan, Trim and Kells town centres, and farmhouses with yards and outbuildings across the rest of the county. Long driveways and rural lanes are more of a factor here than parking.

Doing it yourself in Meath: what the council offers
Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Meath County Council will and won’t do for an apartment clearance. Furniture and bulky items are accepted at Navan Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), Kells Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) and Trim Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), with mattresses charged separately (Per item on top of the gate fee: single mattress €15, double €20, king €25 (Oxigen's own list says €30), mattress topper/duvet €5–€10, single divan €10, double divan €15, 3-seater couch €20, 2-seater €15, corner couch €35, armchair €12, patio table €10, patio chair €5, large carpet/lino roll €25, small roll €15, bag of carpet/lino €5, standard refuse sack of mixed domestic or non-recyclable waste €5, large plastic toy €5, toilet/cistern/basin €5, bath/shower tray €10). Dunboyne Recycling Facility (Thorntons Recycling) does not accept furniture or mattresses at all. Electrical items — fridges, washing machines, TVs, computers — are free to drop at every council site as WEEE, and we take them as part of any job. Watch the vehicle rules: Cars, vans and trailers admitted; vans and trailers pay load-based rates (green waste small van €10, large van €50). Commercial vehicles charged separately (timber €40 per van or €1.50 per pallet, scrap metal €50 per load, cardboard €30 per van, paper €40 per van). Fair-usage policy applies.
Meath County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Meath County Council does not collect household or bulky waste from homes and does not run a bookable bulky-item collection. Bulky household waste is to be brought to the three council recycling centres at Navan, Kells and Trim (run under contract by Oxigen Environmental), where it is charged per item on top of a €2 gate fee, or to Thorntons Dunboyne. Alternatively use an authorised private collector (check the NWCPO permit register). The council does run several free amnesty / drop-off weeks each year: a free mattress drop-off (typically April; e.g. Navan 18 April, Trim 19 April, Thorntons Dunboyne 19 April, Kells 20 April in 2024), a free bulky-furniture week in late July/August (couches, beds, chairs, tables, wardrobes, outdoor furniture, garden equipment, toys, trampolines, flooring, sanitary ware - mattresses excluded) rotating through Navan, Trim, Kells and Dunboyne, and a Halloween anti-bonfire drop-off in late October (furniture suites, beds, divans, bed frames, flooring, duvets, pillows, toys, doors, windows - no mattresses, paint, domestic or green waste). Rules: householders only, Meath residents only (bring photo ID plus a utility bill or driving licence), no commercial customers, and the €2 gate fee still applies. The council said in April 2026 the mattress amnesty and a sofa amnesty would run again in 2026; dates are announced on meath.ie, the council's social media and in the Meath Chronicle, and enquiries go to environment@meathcoco.ie.

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.
Or we come to you
Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.
How an apartment clearance works with us
Photos and the building. Send photos plus the floor, lift situation and parking. Tell us if the management company needs insurance in advance — we send it.
Booking the lift. We arrange the lift booking or protective covers with the management agent where required, and time the truck for the loading-bay window.
The clearance. Two or three of us, lift protected, corridors kept clear, items staged and loaded in short bursts.
Handover. Photos of the empty apartment and the communal areas left as we found them.

Name, phone and one line about the job. We ring you back within the hour (8am–8pm) with a price, or ask for a couple of photos first.

What affects the price in Meath
Floor and lift — a fourth-floor walk-up is a different job from a ground-floor unit with a lift
Parking and loading-bay access — a 20-minute stopping window means more trips
Volume — most apartments are a half-day; penthouses and family apartments a full day
Management-company requirements — booked lift slots, out-of-hours work, insurance paperwork
Reuse — good flat-pack rarely survives disassembly, but good upholstered furniture does
Meath is a proper run for us — south Meath (Enfield, Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Ashbourne) is about an hour from Athy via the M4 and M50, Navan and Trim roughly 80 minutes, and Kells, Oldcastle and the coast around Laytown nearer an hour and three-quarters. We cover it by grouping Meath jobs on set days each week, so a one-off job here is priced as part of a round rather than a special trip. Send photos through the quote form or on WhatsApp and you’ll have a fixed price the same day.

Apartment Clearance in Meath: frequently asked questions
Will the management company allow it?
Almost always, provided we have insurance on file with them and we book the lift or loading bay where required. We handle that paperwork — send us the agent’s details and we’ll sort it before the day.
Can you use the bin store?
No — and neither can you, for furniture. Almost every management company in Meath bans bulky items from the bin store and will charge the owner for removing anything dumped there. We load straight onto the truck.
There’s no lift. Can you still do it?
Yes. Stairs are normal for us; we price by floor and carry carefully. Tell us the floor when you ask for a quote.
Do you take white goods?
Yes. Fridges, freezers, washing machines and cookers go for proper WEEE recycling — the council sites take these free, and so do we as part of the job.
Can you do it outside working hours?
Often yes, particularly where the building restricts moves to certain hours. Early morning and Saturday slots are available — ask when you book.
How quickly can you clear an apartment in Meath?
Small jobs can usually be done within a day or two of asking; full clearances within the week, subject to lift booking.
How is apartment clearance different from flat clearance?
We use “apartment” for purpose-built developments with lifts, management companies and bin stores, and “flat” for converted houses, bedsits, above-shop flats and council flat complexes, which bring different access problems. Each has its own page for Meath because the jobs are different.
Do you need the management company’s permission?
Usually they need notice rather than permission — a booked lift, our insurance on file, and a time window for the loading bay. We handle that with the agent once you give us their details.
Can you clear a furnished rental between tenants?
Yes — we take only what you tell us to and leave the landlord’s furniture in place. Photos before and after, and an invoice per unit for agents with several apartments.
What about the balcony and the storage cage?
Both included. Basement storage cages are a common forgotten space; tell us the cage number and we clear it in the same visit.
Will you take the bikes in the bike store?
Only your own, and only with the management company aware. Bikes left by previous residents are the management company’s call.
How much does an apartment clearance cost in Meath?
A single item or a few pieces is a short van call; a full one- or two-bed apartment is typically a half-day with one truck; a large three-bed is a day. Floor, lift and loading-bay access move the price more than the furniture does. Photos get you a fixed quote the same day.
Does Meath County Council collect bulky items?
No. Meath County Council does not run a bulky-waste collection. Your options are the council recycling centres listed above — with their charges and limits — or a permitted private collector like us.
How far is Meath from your base?
Meath is a proper run for us — south Meath (Enfield, Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Ashbourne) is about an hour from Athy via the M4 and M50, Navan and Trim roughly 80 minutes, and Kells, Oldcastle and the coast around Laytown nearer an hour and three-quarters. We cover it by grouping Meath jobs on set days each week, so a one-off job here is priced as part of a round rather than a special trip.
