Garage Clearance in Co. Kildare
Garages are where the house keeps what it can’t throw out. Tools, timber, tins of paint, the exercise bike, the second fridge. We clear the lot across Kildare and deal properly with the awkward stuff.

A garage clearance is a different beast from a house clearance. Less furniture, more weight: timber, tiles, bags of cement that have gone hard, car parts, a lawnmower that hasn’t started since 2015, paint tins, bottles of something, a chest freezer with the door taped shut. Much of it needs separating — paint, oil and chemicals can’t go in with the general load, timber is cheaper to dispose of on its own, metal is worth keeping apart.
We sort as we load so each stream goes where it should, and we’re permitted to carry it. ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01. Kildare is our home county — we’re based in Athy, so most Kildare jobs are 20 to 45 minutes from the yard. That’s why we can usually offer next-day and often same-day slots here, and why Kildare quotes are the keenest we give.

Full garage clearance in Kildare
Back to the walls and the floor. Shelving down if you want it gone, workbench out, everything on it and under it, the roof-space storage, the back corner nobody has reached in a decade. We separate timber, metal, WEEE, hazardous liquids and general waste on the way out and sweep the floor at the end. A single garage is normally a half-day with one truck; a double garage that’s been a workshop and a dump for thirty years is a day and often two loads because of the weight.
If the garage is being converted — into a room, a home office, a gym — we clear to a standard the builder can start on, including taking old fittings and any loose render off the floor.
Partial garage clearance in Kildare
The old appliances. The pile of timber. The tyres. The thirty paint tins. A partial garage job is usually about one category of thing that you can’t get rid of any other way — and often it’s the category the council site won’t take, or charges extra for. We’ll collect just that and leave your garage otherwise as it was.

Garage Clearance across Co. Kildare: every town we cover
We provide a garage clearance in all 58 towns and villages below, and at the rural addresses between them. Kildare splits roughly into three: the commuter belt in the north-east (Maynooth, Leixlip, Celbridge, Kilcock) where the county meets Dublin; the central spine along the M7 and the Curragh (Naas, Newbridge, Kildare Town, Sallins, Clane); and the south and west (Athy, Castledermot, Monasterevin, Rathangan) where the towns are smaller and the properties bigger. Kildare County Council does not collect bulky waste from households at all — every bulky item in the county either goes to one of two recycling centres, both of which charge by the kilo, or is collected by a permitted operator like us.
A lot of Kildare housing is 1990s–2000s estate semis and townhouses with decent access and a driveway, which makes for straightforward jobs. The exceptions are the older town-centre terraces in Athy, Naas and Kildare Town, period houses and farmhouses with full outbuildings, and the apartment schemes in Naas, Newbridge, Leixlip and Maynooth where we work to the management company’s rules.

Doing it yourself in Kildare: what the council offers
Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Kildare County Council will and won’t do for a garage clearance. Timber is taken at Silliot Hill Recycling Centre & Civic Amenity and Athy Recycling Centre (Gallows Hill), usually cheaper than general waste if it’s kept separate. Small amounts of household rubble and plasterboard are accepted at Athy Recycling Centre (Gallows Hill). Silliot Hill Recycling Centre & Civic Amenity won’t take construction waste. Electrical items — fridges, washing machines, TVs, computers — are free to drop at every council site as WEEE, and we take them as part of any job. Household paint, oil and chemicals are accepted at Silliot Hill Recycling Centre & Civic Amenity and Athy Recycling Centre (Gallows Hill), usually for a small charge.
Kildare County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Kildare County Council does not collect household or bulky waste. Bulky furniture is to be brought to the recycling centres or collected by an authorised private collector. Periodic free Mattress Amnesty Days at Silliot Hill (household only, max 6 mattresses, no divans/couches).

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.
Or we come to you
Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.
How a garage clearance works with us
Photos. A wide shot from the door and a couple of close-ups of the heavy stuff. Tell us if there are chemicals, tyres or a freezer.
Fixed price. Quoted on what we see, with the separate streams (hazardous, tyres, WEEE) priced honestly.
The clearance. Sorted as we load — timber, metal, WEEE, hazardous and general on the truck separately.
Swept and done. Floor swept, shelving left or taken as agreed, photos sent.

What affects the price in Kildare
Weight — the big factor in garages; timber, tiles and cement cost by the tonne to dispose of
Hazardous items — paint, oil and chemicals have separate disposal costs
Tyres and appliances — priced per item
Access — a garage at the end of a long garden versus one on the driveway
Reuse and scrap — tools, metal and good timber reduce the bill
Kildare is our home county — we’re based in Athy, so most Kildare jobs are 20 to 45 minutes from the yard. That’s why we can usually offer next-day and often same-day slots here, and why Kildare quotes are the keenest we give. Send photos through the quote form or on WhatsApp and you’ll have a fixed price the same day.

Garage Clearance in Kildare: frequently asked questions
Do you take paint, oil and chemicals?
Yes, in household quantities, separated from the general load and taken to a facility that handles them. There is a per-item or per-litre cost for these — we show it on the quote rather than hiding it.
Do you take tyres?
Yes, priced per tyre. The council sites in Kildare take tyres for a small fee too, if you’d rather bring them yourself.
What about the old chest freezer?
Fridges and freezers go for WEEE recycling — the council sites take them free and we take them as part of the job. Empty it first if you can; if you can’t, tell us and we’ll deal with it.
Can you take the garage shelving and workbench?
Yes, dismantled and taken, or left if you want to keep it. Metal racking goes for scrap, which helps the price.
Will you clear it ready for a conversion?
Yes — back to bare walls and floor, old fittings off, loose material up. Tell the builder to send us their list.
Garage, shed and attic together in Kildare?
Absolutely, and it’s the most cost-effective way to do it — one crew, one truck, one day. See the shed clearance and attic clearance pages for Kildare.
Can you take a car engine or heavy machinery?
If it can be moved by two people or a sack truck, yes. Engine blocks, lathes and the like are heavy but fine. Anything needing a crane we arrange separately.
Do you take asbestos garage roofs?
No — asbestos cement sheets need a licensed contractor. We’ll point you to one and clear the garage once the roof is done.
What about half-full paint tins and old creosote?
Household quantities, yes, separated and taken for proper disposal. We charge per item for these because the facilities charge us per litre.
Can you clear a garage that’s been used as a workshop?
Yes — benches, vices, racking, tools, offcuts and swarf. Tools and metal are set aside for reuse or scrap, which brings the price down.
Do you offer same-day garage clearance in Kildare?
Often, yes — Kildare is twenty to forty-five minutes from our yard, so a garage can usually be fitted in the same or next day.
Does Kildare County Council collect bulky items?
No. Kildare County Council does not run a bulky-waste collection. Your options are the council recycling centres listed above — with their charges and limits — or a permitted private collector like us.
How far is Kildare from your base?
Kildare is our home county — we’re based in Athy, so most Kildare jobs are 20 to 45 minutes from the yard. That’s why we can usually offer next-day and often same-day slots here, and why Kildare quotes are the keenest we give.
