End of Tenancy Clearance by county: DublinKildareWicklowKilkennyLaoisCarlowMeathLouthLongfordOffalyWestmeathWexford

Every landlord has had it: the keys come back and the place is half full. A mattress, a broken wardrobe, bags in the hall, a fridge full of something, the furniture the tenant didn’t want to pay to move. Every void week costs rent, and the letting agent can’t photograph it like that. On the other side, tenants moving out of Longford often need the opposite — the furniture they bought gone before the inspection so the deposit comes back whole.
We clear rental properties the same or next day where we can, photograph them empty, and invoice properly for the file. ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01, fully insured. Longford is about an hour and three-quarters from our yard in Athy — Ballymahon and Edgeworthstown a little less, Granard, Drumlish and the north of the county a little more. We cover it by combining Longford jobs with Westmeath work on the same day, so ask for a date and we’ll fit you into the next run.

Full end of tenancy clearance in Longford
The whole property emptied of everything that isn’t the landlord’s: abandoned furniture and belongings, bagged rubbish, the contents of the fridge and presses, the balcony or garden, the bin store if the tenant left things there. Landlord’s fittings and furniture stay. We photograph each room before and after, note anything damaged we come across, and leave the property swept so the agent can photograph it. Most apartments and small houses are a half-day; larger houses or those left in a bad state are a day.
For agents managing several units we set up an account and a standing arrangement: email the address and the access, we do the rest.
Partial clearance — the items the tenant left behind
Usually it isn’t the whole property, it’s a few things: the mattress, the sofa, the bags in the hall, the bike in the garden. We’ll collect just those, often the same day, and send you a photo of the space clear. For tenants moving out we do the reverse — collect the furniture you don’t want to take, before the landlord’s inspection.
What we take — and what we don’t
- Abandoned furniture, mattresses and bedding
- Fridges, freezers and appliances left full
- Bagged rubbish and loose belongings
- Carpets, rugs and curtains past their best
- Balcony, garden and shed contents
- Items dumped in bin stores and common areas
- Before-and-after photographs for your file
- Sweep to broom-clean, with full cleaning available
Not included: Landlord’s own furniture and fittings (unless instructed); Legal process for abandoned goods — follow it first, then call us; Repairs and redecoration.
End of Tenancy Clearance across Co. Longford: every town we cover
We provide an end of tenancy clearance in all 32 towns and villages below, and at the rural addresses between them. Longford is small, flat and rural: Longford Town in the middle, Granard in the north, Edgeworthstown on the N4, Ballymahon and Lanesborough on the Shannon side, and dozens of villages between. Longford County Council has no council-run recycling centre at all — both civic amenity sites are operated by Mulleadys, the Longford Town one only opens Wednesdays and Saturdays, prices aren’t published, and there is no bulky-waste collection. Once or twice a year the council runs a Large Goods day at Drumlish at a flat charge per car or trailer.
Longford housing is older than most of Leinster’s: town-centre terraces in Longford Town and Granard, 1970s–80s bungalows on their own sites, farmhouses with full ranges of outbuildings, and a scatter of 2000s estates on the edges of the towns. Sheds, hay barns and the contents of a lifetime of farming come up in almost every Longford clearance.

Doing it yourself in Longford: what the council offers
Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Longford County Council will and won’t do for an end of tenancy clearance. Furniture and bulky items are accepted at Longford Civic Amenity Site (Mulleadys), Westlink Business Park and Mulleadys Civic Amenity Site, Drumlish (Cloonaugh). Electrical items — fridges, washing machines, TVs, computers — are free to drop at every council site as WEEE, and we take them as part of any job. Watch the vehicle rules: Small domestic and small commercial loads only; large vans and trailer loads should use Drumlish — confirm by phone.
Longford County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Longford County Council does not run a kerbside or bookable bulky-waste collection. Instead it organises periodic Large Goods Collection days (typically one or two a year, Friday or Saturday mornings 10am–1pm) at Mulleadys Civic Amenity Site in Drumlish, sometimes with a second drop-off point in Longford town. At these events the charge is per vehicle, not per item: €20 per car, €30 per car with single-axle trailer, €40 per car with double-axle trailer or large van; tractors and trailers are not admitted. Accepted: beds, mattresses, sofas, furniture, carpets, children's toys, bicycles and household scrap metal. Not accepted: paint, electrical goods, PVC, plastic oil tanks, construction and demolition waste, lead, tiles, ceramics, broken glass. A household hazardous waste collection (per-kilo charge) is sometimes run alongside. No booking is required; dates are announced on longfordcoco.ie and council social media. Year-round, bulky items go to the two Mulleadys civic amenity sites or to a permitted private collector. Furniture in good condition can be donated to the Revamp 3R Store, Longford.

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.
Or we come to you
Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.

End of Tenancy Clearance in Longford: frequently asked questions
How fast can you clear a rental in Longford?
Small jobs often the same day; full properties usually within one to two working days. Tell us the re-let or viewing date and we’ll work to it.
Can I deduct this from the tenant’s deposit?
That’s between you, the tenant and the RTB rules — we can’t advise. What we do is give you a proper invoice and before-and-after photos so you have the evidence if it comes to that.
The tenant left belongings. Can you just take them?
Once you’ve followed the correct process for abandoned goods, yes. We’re not able to advise on the notice period, but once it’s done we clear and photograph everything.
Do you work with letting agents?
Yes — a lot of our Longford end-of-tenancy work is for agents. We set up account terms, accept instructions by email, and send photos and invoices per property.
I’m the tenant. Can you take my furniture before I hand back the keys?
Yes. Book us for the day before the inspection and we’ll take the furniture you don’t want to move. Many tenants find it’s cheaper than moving it.
Do you clean as well?
Broom-clean is standard. A full end-of-tenancy clean can be added and quoted with the clearance.
Do you work with the RTB deposit rules?
We don’t advise on them — that’s between you, the tenant and the RTB. What we give you is before-and-after photos and a proper invoice, which is the evidence you’ll need either way.
Can you clear several units in one day?
Yes — agents and landlords with a block of units book us for the lot, and we invoice per unit so the costs land in the right file.
Can you also arrange cleaning and small repairs?
Cleaning yes, quoted alongside the clearance. Small repairs we can point you to a tradesperson for.
Will you take the fridge with food still in it?
Yes. We empty and bag the contents, take the fridge for WEEE recycling, and leave the kitchen clean enough to photograph.
How quickly can you turn a void around in Longford?
Small jobs the same day where we can; full clearances within one to two working days.
Does Longford County Council collect bulky items?
No. Longford County Council does not run a bulky-waste collection. Your options are the council recycling centres listed above — with their charges and limits — or a permitted private collector like us.
How far is Longford from your base?
Longford is about an hour and three-quarters from our yard in Athy — Ballymahon and Edgeworthstown a little less, Granard, Drumlish and the north of the county a little more.
