Shed Clearance in Co. Meath
From the six-by-four at the end of a Meath garden to a stone outbuilding that hasn’t been opened this century. Emptied, sorted, and — if you want — the shed taken away too.

Sheds are the end of the line. If it’s broken, rusty, half-used or “might be handy”, it’s in the shed — along with the mower, the strimmer that needs a part, the paint from three redecorations, the barbecue, the kids’ bikes, and whatever the previous owner left. In Meath it often means more than one shed, and sometimes a stone outbuilding, a stable or a farm store with a generation of contents.
We empty it, sort it, and take the shed itself if it’s coming down. ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01. Meath is a proper run for us — south Meath (Enfield, Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Ashbourne) is about an hour from Athy via the M4 and M50, Navan and Trim roughly 80 minutes, and Kells, Oldcastle and the coast around Laytown nearer an hour and three-quarters. We cover it by grouping Meath jobs on set days each week, so a one-off job here is priced as part of a round rather than a special trip.

Full shed and outbuilding clearance in Meath
Everything out: tools and machinery, timber, garden chemicals, pots, furniture that was retired to the shed, bagged waste, the rotten carpet on the floor. Rotten and broken sheds can be dismantled and loaded along with the contents — felt, timber, glass and the concrete blocks it stood on. For outbuildings and farm stores we clear old feed bags, fertiliser containers, wire, scrap metal and machinery parts, and separate the scrap, which can offset the cost. A garden shed is usually an hour or two; a stone outbuilding or a stable block is a day, sometimes two loads because of the weight of metal and timber.
Partial shed clearance in Meath
Just the mower and the heavy things, just the chemicals and paint, just the broken furniture — or just the shed itself, dismantled and removed with the contents left for you. Partial shed jobs are small, fast and priced that way, and they combine well with a garden waste collection if you’re clearing the garden at the same time.
What we take — and what we don’t
- Lawnmowers, strimmers, garden tools and machinery
- Timber, pallets, old fencing and decking
- Paint, garden chemicals, fuel residues (household quantities)
- Garden furniture, barbecues, pots and planters
- Bikes, toys and the household overflow
- Scrap metal, wire, old gates and machinery parts
- The shed itself — dismantled and removed
- Feed bags, fertiliser containers and farm-store contents
Not included: Asbestos roofing sheets (we can advise on licensed removal); Full fuel containers and gas cylinders; Live animals, obviously.
Shed Clearance across Co. Meath: every town we cover
We provide a shed clearance in all 52 towns and villages below, and at the rural addresses between them. Meath is big and busy: the commuter towns along the Dublin border (Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Clonee) grew enormously in the 2000s; Navan, Trim and Kells are the old market towns in the middle; the coast strip from Laytown to Mornington looks to Drogheda; and the north and west — Oldcastle, Nobber, Athboy, Enfield — is rural and quiet. Meath County Council runs no bulky-waste collection. Its three recycling centres (Navan, Kells, Trim) charge a flat gate fee plus a price per item of furniture, and there is no council site at all in east Meath — people in Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunboyne and the coast are sent to Dunboyne’s private facility or across the county line.
Expect large 2000s estates of semis and townhouses in the commuter towns, plenty of apartment schemes in Ashbourne, Navan and Dunboyne with management-company rules, Georgian and Victorian terraces in Navan, Trim and Kells town centres, and farmhouses with yards and outbuildings across the rest of the county. Long driveways and rural lanes are more of a factor here than parking.

Doing it yourself in Meath: what the council offers
Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Meath County Council will and won’t do for a shed clearance. Clean green waste goes to Navan Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), Kells Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), Trim Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) and Dunboyne Recycling Facility (Thorntons Recycling), charged Green waste: 2 car bags free with gate fee, €2 per extra bag, single-axle trailer €10, double-axle €20, small van €10, large van €50. Timber is taken at Navan Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), Kells Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) and Trim Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), usually cheaper than general waste if it’s kept separate. Small amounts of household rubble and plasterboard are accepted at Kells Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site). Navan Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), Kells Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) and Trim Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) won’t take construction waste. Household paint, oil and chemicals are accepted at Navan Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), Kells Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site) and Trim Recycling Centre (Civic Amenity Site), usually for a small charge. Watch the vehicle rules: Cars, vans and trailers admitted; vans and trailers pay load-based rates (green waste small van €10, large van €50). Commercial vehicles charged separately (timber €40 per van or €1.50 per pallet, scrap metal €50 per load, cardboard €30 per van, paper €40 per van). Fair-usage policy applies.
Meath County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Meath County Council does not collect household or bulky waste from homes and does not run a bookable bulky-item collection. Bulky household waste is to be brought to the three council recycling centres at Navan, Kells and Trim (run under contract by Oxigen Environmental), where it is charged per item on top of a €2 gate fee, or to Thorntons Dunboyne. Alternatively use an authorised private collector (check the NWCPO permit register). The council does run several free amnesty / drop-off weeks each year: a free mattress drop-off (typically April; e.g. Navan 18 April, Trim 19 April, Thorntons Dunboyne 19 April, Kells 20 April in 2024), a free bulky-furniture week in late July/August (couches, beds, chairs, tables, wardrobes, outdoor furniture, garden equipment, toys, trampolines, flooring, sanitary ware - mattresses excluded) rotating through Navan, Trim, Kells and Dunboyne, and a Halloween anti-bonfire drop-off in late October (furniture suites, beds, divans, bed frames, flooring, duvets, pillows, toys, doors, windows - no mattresses, paint, domestic or green waste). Rules: householders only, Meath residents only (bring photo ID plus a utility bill or driving licence), no commercial customers, and the €2 gate fee still applies. The council said in April 2026 the mattress amnesty and a sofa amnesty would run again in 2026; dates are announced on meath.ie, the council's social media and in the Meath Chronicle, and enquiries go to environment@meathcoco.ie.

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.
Or we come to you
Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.
How a shed clearance works with us

Fixed price. Contents, shed and any scrap credit shown separately.
The clearance. Emptied and sorted, shed dismantled if agreed, scrap kept apart.

What affects the price in Meath
Carry distance — the side passage to the road is the Dublin issue; the yard-to-truck run is the rural one
Weight — timber, metal and machinery
Hazardous liquids — priced per item
Dismantling the shed — timber sheds are quick, concrete-panel and steel sheds take longer
Scrap — metal and machinery can bring the price down
Meath is a proper run for us — south Meath (Enfield, Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Ashbourne) is about an hour from Athy via the M4 and M50, Navan and Trim roughly 80 minutes, and Kells, Oldcastle and the coast around Laytown nearer an hour and three-quarters. We cover it by grouping Meath jobs on set days each week, so a one-off job here is priced as part of a round rather than a special trip. Send photos through the quote form or on WhatsApp and you’ll have a fixed price the same day.

Shed Clearance in Meath: frequently asked questions
Can you take the shed itself?
Yes. Timber sheds are dismantled and loaded in under an hour; steel and concrete-panel sheds take longer and we quote them separately. We take the base blocks too if you want.
Do you take garden chemicals and old fuel?
Household quantities of garden chemicals, paint and oil, yes — kept separate and disposed of properly. Full petrol cans and gas cylinders we can’t take; we’ll tell you where to bring them.
Can you clear a stable or farm store?
Yes, regularly in Meath. Scrap metal, machinery parts, feed bags and fertiliser containers are all normal. Tell us roughly how much is there and whether a tractor-sized vehicle can get to it.
Can you clear the garden at the same time?
Yes — shed plus garden waste is a common combination. See the garden waste clearance page for Meath.
Is there a mouse or rat problem in there?
Tell us and we’ll come prepared. If it’s serious, a pest controller first makes everyone’s day better.
How quickly can you do a shed?
Small sheds can often be done the same week. We group Meath jobs so a shed can usually be added to a run already scheduled.
Do you take old lawnmowers and petrol strimmers?
Yes — drained of fuel where possible. If you can’t drain them, tell us and we’ll do it on site.
Can you remove a concrete shed base?
Breaking out and removing a concrete base is a separate job with different equipment. We can quote it or point you to someone who does it daily.
What happens to good tools and garden equipment?
Set aside for reuse where we can arrange it. It reduces your bill and keeps usable things out of the skip.
The shed is full of someone else’s things.
If it’s a tenant’s or a previous owner’s, make sure you’re entitled to clear it first. After that we treat it like any other shed.
Can you clear sheds on farms in Meath?
Yes — farm stores, stables and outbuildings are a regular Meath job. Scrap metal and machinery parts are weighed in and credited.
Does Meath County Council collect bulky items?
No. Meath County Council does not run a bulky-waste collection. Your options are the council recycling centres listed above — with their charges and limits — or a permitted private collector like us.
How far is Meath from your base?
Meath is a proper run for us — south Meath (Enfield, Dunboyne, Dunshaughlin, Ashbourne) is about an hour from Athy via the M4 and M50, Navan and Trim roughly 80 minutes, and Kells, Oldcastle and the coast around Laytown nearer an hour and three-quarters. We cover it by grouping Meath jobs on set days each week, so a one-off job here is priced as part of a round rather than a special trip.
