Self-storage unit being emptied during a storage unit clearance in Wexford

Storage units fill up with good intentions. The furniture from the old house that was going to be used again. The stock from a business that closed. A parent’s belongings after a clearance, put away until the family could face them. The monthly direct debit keeps going out, and after a couple of years it has cost more than the contents are worth. Then there’s the practical problem: the unit is on the second floor of a facility with one goods lift, a trolley you have to book, and a gate that closes at six.

We clear units in one visit, within the facility’s hours, with our own trolleys and a crew that knows how the lifts work. ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01. North Wexford is nearer us than you might think — Bunclody is 45 minutes from Athy, Enniscorthy and Gorey about an hour, New Ross a little more, and Wexford Town, Rosslare and the Hook about an hour and a half. We’re in Wexford every week, usually combining the north of the county with Carlow work.

Full storage unit clearance in Wexford

The unit emptied to the walls in one visit — furniture, boxes, appliances, business stock, whatever is in there — loaded onto our truck in the facility’s loading bay and gone. We sort as we load: anything you’ve asked us to keep is set aside; good furniture goes for reuse; boxes you haven’t looked at in years can be opened on the spot if you want to decide, or brought to you to go through. We sign out with the facility and you cancel the unit that day. A standard 50–100 sq ft unit is an hour or two; a large unit or a container is a half-day.

Partial storage unit clearance — downsizing the unit

Sometimes the aim is a smaller unit, not no unit. We take out the bulky furniture and the things you’ve decided against, and you move what’s left to a cheaper size. Or we clear a parent’s unit of everything except the boxes marked “keep” and bring those to you. Partial unit jobs are priced on what comes out.

What we take — and what we don’t

  • Furniture, beds, mattresses and household contents
  • Boxed belongings — opened and sorted with you if wanted
  • Business stock, fittings and archive boxes
  • Appliances and electricals (WEEE)
  • Containers and lock-ups as well as indoor units
  • Working to the facility’s hours, lift bookings and trolley rules
  • Sign-out with the facility office

Not included: Items the facility has a lien on (sort that with them first); Hazardous goods stored against the facility’s rules.

Storage Unit Clearance across Co. Wexford: every town we cover

We provide a storage unit clearance in all 105 towns and villages below, and at the rural addresses between them. Wexford is a long county: Gorey and the Courtown coast in the north, Enniscorthy on the Slaney in the middle, New Ross on the Barrow in the west, Wexford Town and Rosslare in the south-east and the Hook peninsula in the far south, with the biggest run of villages in Leinster between them. Wexford County Council runs no bulky-waste collection, and only one of its four recycling centres — Holmestown near Wexford Town — takes furniture, mattresses and general waste; Enniscorthy, New Ross and Gorey are recyclables and WEEE only. So for most of the county, bulky waste means a long drive to Holmestown or a permitted collector.

Wexford Town’s Whitemill and Drinagh parks, Gorey’s and Enniscorthy’s business parks, New Ross’s port-side units, Rosslare Europort and the agri and food businesses across the county make up the commercial side, plus a big seasonal trade in holiday parks and caravan sites along the coast.

Doing it yourself in Wexford: what the council offers

Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Wexford County Council will and won’t do for a storage unit clearance. Furniture and bulky items are accepted at Holmestown Household Recycling Centre, with mattresses charged separately (Bulky: single mattress/base €14, double €28, armchair €14, 2-seater €21, 3-seater €28, carpet €21). Enniscorthy Household Recycling Centre, New Ross Household Recycling Centre and Gorey Household Recycling Centre do not accept furniture or mattresses at all. Electrical items — fridges, washing machines, TVs, computers — are free to drop at every council site as WEEE, and we take them as part of any job. Watch the vehicle rules: Vans and trailers admitted with set load bands: single-axle trailer/van €65–€100, double-axle trailer or large van €100–€150, extra-large van €180; domestic waste only.

Wexford County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Wexford County Council does not collect household or bulky waste from the kerb; bin collection is by licensed private operators listed on wexfordcoco.ie. Bulky furniture, mattresses and carpets are accepted only at the Holmestown Household Recycling Centre near Wexford town (per-item charges), or via an authorised private collector. Free anti-dumping amnesties run most years: a Mattress Amnesty across all four recycling centres over four weeks in September–October 2025 (Tue–Fri 8:15am–12pm and 1pm–4pm, limit 3 mattresses per vehicle, one entry per vehicle, €2 vehicle entry, households only, mattresses clean and dry), and a free Furniture Amnesty at Holmestown for three weeks from September 2026 (Tue–Fri 9am–3pm, freestanding furniture only such as tables, chairs and couches, max 4 items per household, one trip only, no mattresses, no commercial waste).

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.

Or we come to you

Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.

How a storage unit clearance works with us

  1. Unit details. Facility, unit size and floor, access hours, and photos through the door if you have them.
  2. Price. Fixed price for the unit, same day.
  3. The clearance. Our trolleys, our crew, one visit within the facility’s hours.
  4. Cancel the unit. Signed out, unit swept, you stop the direct debit.

What affects the price in Wexford

  • Unit size — the quickest measure
  • Floor and lift — ground-floor drive-up versus a second-floor goods lift
  • Contents — furniture-heavy units weigh more than box-heavy ones
  • Reuse — good furniture lowers the cost
  • Facility hours — tight windows can mean a second visit

North Wexford is nearer us than you might think — Bunclody is 45 minutes from Athy, Enniscorthy and Gorey about an hour, New Ross a little more, and Wexford Town, Rosslare and the Hook about an hour and a half. We’re in Wexford every week, usually combining the north of the county with Carlow work. Send photos through the quote form or on WhatsApp and you’ll have a fixed price the same day.

Storage Unit Clearance in Wexford: frequently asked questions

Can you clear a unit without me there?

Yes, if the facility allows it — most do with your written authorisation and a code. We photograph the unit before and after.

Do you know the storage facilities in Wexford?

The main ones, yes — we work in them regularly. Tell us which, and we’ll know the lift, the trolley rules and the hours.

Can you bring some things to me and dispose of the rest?

Yes. Tag or list what you want, and we deliver those and dispose of the rest in the same trip.

What about a unit that belonged to someone who has died?

We do these carefully. The facility will need the executor’s authorisation; after that we clear the unit, set aside anything personal, and bring it to the family.

Can you clear a shipping container or a lock-up?

Yes — containers on yards and lock-ups behind houses are common in Wexford, and the only difference is the access for our truck.

How quickly?

Usually within the week; small units often within a day or two.

Can you take a business’s archive boxes for shredding?

Yes — bagged for confidential shredding through our partner, with a certificate, or archived if you prefer.

The unit has a padlock and I’ve lost the key.

The facility can usually cut it with your authorisation. Arrange that with them first and we do the rest.

Can you clear a unit in another county and bring things to me?

Yes — clearing a unit in Dublin and delivering keepsakes to Wexford, or the reverse, is a normal job for us.

Do you deal with the facility’s paperwork?

We sign in and out and can hand the keys or fob back to the office. Cancelling the account is yours to do.

What if the unit is bigger than I thought?

We tell you before we start the second load, not after. The quote is based on the unit size and your photos; if it’s packed to the ceiling, say so.

Does Wexford County Council collect bulky items?

No. Wexford County Council does not run a bulky-waste collection. Your options are the council recycling centres listed above — with their charges and limits — or a permitted private collector like us.

How far is Wexford from your base?

North Wexford is nearer us than you might think — Bunclody is 45 minutes from Athy, Enniscorthy and Gorey about an hour, New Ross a little more, and Wexford Town, Rosslare and the Hook about an hour and a half. We’re in Wexford every week, usually combining the north of the county with Carlow work.
