Office furniture stacked for removal during an office clearance in Louth

Offices generate a specific kind of clearance: a lot of identical furniture that nobody wants, a lot of paper, and a lot of electrical equipment that can’t legally go in a skip. The timing is usually tight — the lease ends on a Friday, the new tenant’s fit-out starts Monday — and the building has rules about lifts, loading bays and hours. In Louth it’s more often a business park unit with a car park and a shutter, which makes life easier.

We clear offices from a single room to several floors, sort the furniture for reuse where it’s in good condition, and handle the WEEE — monitors, PCs, printers, phones, servers — through the proper recycling route. ManageWaste.ie is operated by Krystal Klean Express Limited, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01, fully insured for commercial premises. Louth is the furthest county we cover — Drogheda is about an hour and a half from Athy, Ardee and Dunleer a little more, and Dundalk and the Cooley peninsula around two hours. We run Louth jobs in batches, usually one or two days a fortnight, so we can keep the price fair; the trade-off is that we’ll offer you a date rather than a same-week slot.

Full office clearance in Louth

Everything out of the space: desks and chairs, pedestals, filing cabinets, meeting tables, partitions and screens, reception furniture, the kitchen’s fridge and microwave, the comms cabinet, the stationery cupboard, the archive boxes, the plants. Furniture is dismantled where it needs to be to get through the door or into the lift, stacked and loaded in order. Good furniture is set aside for reuse — standard office desks and task chairs in decent condition are reusable and that lowers your bill. Paper can be bagged for confidential shredding through a certified shredding partner if you need it. Monitors, PCs, printers and phones go for WEEE recycling and we can note serial numbers for your asset register.

A small office of ten desks is a half-day; a floor of fifty is a day with two trucks; multi-floor clearances are planned over a weekend.

Partial office clearance in Louth

Often it’s a refresh rather than a move: the old chairs after new ones arrive, the filing cabinets nobody opens, the meeting room being turned into desks, the storeroom. We collect exactly what’s been tagged and leave the office working. Small office collections are quick and can be done early morning before staff arrive.

What we take — and what we don’t

  • Desks, chairs, pedestals, filing cabinets and storage
  • Meeting and boardroom furniture
  • Partitions, screens and reception furniture
  • Monitors, PCs, printers, phones, servers and cabling (WEEE)
  • Kitchen appliances and canteen furniture
  • Archive boxes and paper (with certified shredding available)
  • Carpet tiles, blinds and non-structural fit-out
  • Dismantling and loading included

Not included: Data destruction certification is via our shredding partner, not us directly; Structural strip-out (ceilings, services) — ask, we can arrange it; Hazardous materials.

Office Clearance across Co. Louth: every town we cover

We provide an office clearance in all 29 towns and villages below, and at the rural addresses between them. Louth is Ireland’s smallest county but it has two of its biggest towns: Drogheda in the south, straddling the Boyne, and Dundalk in the north under the Cooley mountains, with Ardee, Dunleer and the Castlebellingham villages between them and a run of coastal villages from Baltray up to Carlingford and Omeath. Louth County Council does not collect bulky waste. Its two civic amenity centres at Dundalk and Drogheda (both run by V&W Recycling) charge a €4 entry plus item charges that aren’t published online, and the annual mattress-and-couch amnesty in early September is the only free route for furniture.

Dundalk’s Finnabair and Coes Road estates, Drogheda’s Donore Road and the IDA parks on the M1, Ardee’s smaller units, and the retail along both towns’ main streets make up Louth’s commercial work, plus a lot of cross-border haulage and agri businesses. We plan Louth business clearances as full-day jobs.

Doing it yourself in Louth: what the council offers

Before you ring anyone, here is the honest picture of what Louth County Council will and won’t do for an office clearance. Furniture and bulky items are accepted at Dundalk Recycling Centre (V&W Civic Amenity Centre) and Drogheda Recycling Centre (V&W Civic Amenity Centre). Electrical items — fridges, washing machines, TVs, computers — are free to drop at every council site as WEEE, and we take them as part of any job. Dundalk Recycling Centre (V&W Civic Amenity Centre) and Drogheda Recycling Centre (V&W Civic Amenity Centre) are for household waste only — commercial loads are turned away. Watch the vehicle rules: Cars and car trailers admitted (trailer charge applies for green waste); no commercial vehicles or commercial waste. Van policy not published - ring ahead.

Louth County Council — no bulky-waste collection. Louth County Council does not collect household waste or bulky items and has no bookable bulky-waste service. It directs residents to the two civic amenity centres in Dundalk and Drogheda, both run by V&W Recycling, where beds, couches, carpet/lino, children's toys and bags of non-recyclable domestic waste are accepted for a charge (ring 042 9329200 or 041 9803900 for the price list - V&W do not publish bulky prices online), or to the nine authorised bulky-waste / skip operators the council lists (e.g. Pronto Waste Clearance & Recycling 087 2912911, Skips on Wheels 083 1552410). Once a year, under the Anti-Dumping Initiative, the council runs a free Mattress & Couch Amnesty, normally over two days in early September: in 2025 it was Wed 3 September 9:30am–5:30pm at the V&W centres in Dundalk and Drogheda and Thu 4 September 9:30am–3:30pm at Kieran & McGee Livestock Sales Yard, Ardee (A92 VP92); in 2024 it was 11–12 September at the same three locations. Only mattresses, sofas and armchairs are taken, maximum 3 items per vehicle, the council covers the disposal cost but the normal €4 entry charge still applies at Dundalk and Drogheda (Ardee is free). The 2025 event took in 2,233 mattresses and 2,124 couches. Dates are announced on louthcoco.ie and in the Dundalk Democrat / Drogheda Independent in August.

Council details are taken from the councils’ own published information and checked periodically; hours and charges change, so confirm with the site before travelling. Where a council hasn’t published a charge we say so rather than guess.

Or we come to you

Set that against a collection from us: no van to borrow, no gate fee, no weighbridge surprise, no two-mattress limit, no carrying it down the stairs yourself, and no question about whether the site will turn your load away. We quote a fixed price from photos, we load it, and it leaves under our waste collection permit (NWCPO-25-13287-01). For a single item the council site can be cheaper if you already have the van and the time; for anything more than a car-boot load, we usually are.

How an office clearance works with us

  1. Walk-through or photos. A floor plan and photos are usually enough; for larger offices we visit and count.
  2. Plan and quote. Date, hours, lift booking, loading bay, what’s reused, what’s shredded. Fixed price.
  3. The clearance. Crew sized for the floor count, furniture dismantled and loaded in order, WEEE kept separate.
  4. Handover. Space swept and photographed. Asset list of WEEE serial numbers on request.

  • WEEE — priced per item category
  • Building constraints — booked lifts, out-of-hours work, loading-bay windows

Office Clearance in Louth: frequently asked questions

Can you clear the office outside working hours?

Yes — evenings and weekends are standard for office clearances, especially in Louth buildings with lift and loading-bay rules.

What happens to the computers and monitors?

They go for WEEE recycling through the proper route. We can record serial numbers for your asset register and arrange certified data destruction for hard drives through our partner.

Can the furniture be reused rather than dumped?

Where it’s in good condition, yes, and it reduces your bill. Standard desks and task chairs are the most reusable; bespoke fit-out furniture is less so.

We have years of files. Can you deal with them?

Yes. Files are bagged for confidential shredding through a certified partner, with a certificate for your records, or boxed for archive storage if you prefer.

Do you do dilapidations clearances at the end of a lease?

Yes. Tell us what the lease requires — often “clear and broom-swept” — and we clear to that standard and photograph it for the landlord.

Do you cover business parks across Louth?

All of them — and the town-centre offices above shops, which are the awkward ones. Every town on this page is covered.

Can you take the server rack and the comms cabinet?

Yes. We can note serial numbers, and hard drives can go for certified destruction through our partner if you need the certificate.

Do you dismantle desks and partitions?

Yes — bench desks, screens, partitions and meeting tables are taken apart and loaded. It’s included in the price.

Can the furniture go to a charity or a school?

Where it’s in good condition and someone will take it, we try — Louth schools and community groups often want desks and chairs. It lowers your bill too.

We have a security pass system. How does that work?

Give us a contact who can badge us in and out, or arrange a temporary pass. We’re used to building security and sign-in sheets.

Can you clear an office over a weekend?

Yes — a Saturday clearance is the most common way to do it without disrupting staff, and many Louth buildings prefer it for lift and loading-bay reasons.

Does Louth County Council collect bulky items?

No. Louth County Council does not run a bulky-waste collection. Your options are the council recycling centres listed above — with their charges and limits — or a permitted private collector like us.

How far is Louth from your base?

Louth is the furthest county we cover — Drogheda is about an hour and a half from Athy, Ardee and Dunleer a little more, and Dundalk and the Cooley peninsula around two hours. We run Louth jobs in batches, usually one or two days a fortnight, so we can keep the price fair; the trade-off is that we’ll offer you a date rather than a same-week slot.
